Evan Russell not available tonight (Friday) now AVAILABLE

Evan should retain counsel and sue ESPN, and Troy Eklund for slander. Should also sue the Arky fan David Marts for libel.

Clearly this is slander and libel. ESPN should be made to pay $$$$$$ for this garbage. F Them.

Are you ok with ESPN implying your kid and his success is due to PEDs?
No he’s just saying that he doesn’t pay attention to people outside the program. But he expects more from our contingent of so-called “fans”. It is pretty sad whenever our own are so quick to run with these rumors, so I agree with him.

Agreed. Knowing Evan and his family as close as our family has over the past 5 years, the speculation and rumors were tough to watch. There is none better than the Russell family.
my daughter was lucky to be let on the field after one of the games against GA to meet Evan who is her favorite player. While she was down there she was able to speak with his family and she was amazed at how nice and welcoming they were to her. It was honestly one of the best days of her life. They'll never know how grateful I am that they made that happen. I'm a Evan Russell/ Russell family fan for life.

Let me tell you about anxiety and panic attacks...
I’ve always been laid back, easy going and let things slide right off my back. Well, about a year ago I started having trouble sleeping. I would lay awake with a million thoughts running through my head and my heart felt like it was going to pound out of my chest.
I would get terrible headaches.
One day, at work, as everything was fine and it was a normal day, I truly thought I was having a heart attack. It was extremely scary. My heart was pounding, chest was tight and I was sweating like crazy, all out of nowhere!
Long story short, after several hours at the hospital and numerous tests, apparently after 42 years, I now suffer from anxiety and panic attacks!
It is real and it can be very scary and hard to understand.
I hope Evan knows that Vol nation understands and is behind him 110%!
VFL
GBO!!

Good of you for opening up so others can relate and support. Anxiety disorders can be extremely debilitating, and they are often compounded by feelings of embarrassment, guilt, isolation, and helplessness. However, they are very treatable and often curable.

Medications are obviously an option, but I would also highly recommend the book/program "DARE," by Barry McDonough.

Go Vols!

I just will never understand why or how stuff like this starts and goes from 0-60 in a matter of hours. It went that fast BEFORE the broadcast.

People aren’t into the most logical explanation like he’s sick, or he pulled something or has a headache. No they go straight to a worst case scenario. They aren’t super heroes, they’re young men and they are far more invested than any of us.

If Evan plays today, some people, in addition to ESPN need to have some crow, raw with no sauce and cold.

GBO!!!

Until there is serious punishment dished out for this stuff it will continue.

Because of health issues, I was extremely vulnerable to a tragic outcome if I contracted Covid before I got the vaccinations. After a year of deliberate isolation from all but one person - a fellow shutin - I began to have panic attacks for the first time in my life. They are extremely unpleasant and psychologically debilitating, as I wondered during the event if my heart was blowing up, which just increased the anxiety and fear, like being in a perpetual loop of fear and confusion. My blood pressure twould balloon to 160/100!! Stress is a debilitating thing. Looking back, I reallize I've always done a poor job of managing it, mostly due to ignorance. I hope all in this conversation will give some thought to it for themselves and loved ones. Some people handle stress with no problem. But I think most of us could use a little helpt.

Evan, as one of the older guys on this team, and with the team trying to win a national championship, is likely feeling the pressure of being responsible for the outcome. Even if that isn't the case and his anxiety is caused by something else, it sure doesn't help when people on this forum and elsewhere in the fan base write and say that this team will be a failure if they don't win the natty. I have been angered every time I read something like that here. I hope people who say those kinds of things will cease and desist from putting that kind of pressure on these fine young men.

With the Alabama and Texas A&M incident.
Now add to it this incident
Both were Media Driven

In this case, I assume that the Announcer is an SEC Network and ESPN regular announcer for Arkansas games that decided to take a shot at Tennessee out of stupidity to intentionally discredit the program. He is not.

Another mistake made was that the announcer mentioned the NCAA was involved in the testing of all players, thus furthering the validity of the rumor.

This is a Sankey problem that he needs to get under control or fan bases will continue to get further out of hand.

ESPN’s new name next year, “Evan Russel’s Vol Network and other sports of interest”

He could easily claim loss of future income due to slander, may not win if it went to court however it may make the settlement even greater.
Our new $200 million stadium is going to be spectacular.
