So revisiting this twist. I’ve sat at my computer all day as well as put questions into HR. My boss is on vacation this week but when she gets back I’ll have the due discussion with her.So my idiot ass company has throw a wrench in my maniacal plans to flip them off and quit.
Our performance bonus plan before this year had a qualifying period as being an employee for the first 6 months of the year you qualified even if you retired on July 1. This year they changed it to you must be an employee on the payout date in March.
It has apparently dawned on them, I’m guessing due to the sheer number of retirement filings, that they will in 30 days be seeing an exodus of very senior very experienced people. They have thus made an allowance of a one time exemption for this year only that if you are employed on Dec 1 then you qualify.
No idea yet what I will do. At the most I would go part time for the remainder of the year.
Move out here to AZ. You can eliminate that variable of humidity. For anyone that has never experienced single-digit relative humidity, it is wonderful. In my opinion, 105 degrees here with mid-single digit humidity feels better than 85 degrees in Knoxville. I far prefer the summers here to the summers in the South (assuming you don't work outside - you really shouldn't do that here), and Fall through Spring are heaven. You can also get that mountain cabin in AZ. Plenty of options around 5K-7K feet elevation, including the largest Ponderosa pine forest in the nation. Each year I say I cannot take another summer of heat and humidity. But each year I do.
I just need to find me a mountain cabin for about 4 months of the year.
One thing they should put as a warning if you accompany a woman into the delivery room is that it is definitely for mature audiences ... graphic language and violence. Women tend to get downright unreasonable and vocal for some strange reason. Don't hold her hand or try to reason with her if you want to live.
You got that right. One of ours started out early on election day in 1994. We went to the hospital about 7:30 and they said it be quite a bit later in the day. Wife told me to go vote and run some errands and come back. BIG mistake on my part. I got back to the hospital about 11:30 am, she was standing up in the bed yelling...blaming me for everything wanting to know where in the hell I've been.
But wouldn't I have to interact with Arizonans if I lived in Arizona?Move out here to AZ. You can eliminate that variable of humidity. That is a drawback, but Arizona is mostly a state of transplants. I lived here for 5 years as a kid in the late 70's and early 80's. Back then, you hardly ever met anyone that was born and raised here. Obviously, there are more of them now, but transplants still far outnumber the natives. But wouldn't I have to interact with Arizonans if I lived in Arizona?
If I said, "yall", "fixinto", and "jueatyet" would anyone there understand? That is a drawback, but Arizona is mostly a state of transplants.
