War in Ukraine

When the sanctions first hit, they were saying that by the end of March or first of April, Russia was going to be in default.

Hadn't heard a peep about it in over 2-3 weeks.
So obviously the sanctions will have zero impact as time goes on and Russia will skate on by with their super duper economy right Moe? 😂

That's amazing since you seem to have heard everything else coming out of Russia. BTW they paid on the last day in US dollars. Nobody wants their damn rubles. Way to go Russia.

Russia beats final deadline to avoid debt default

Side note: These idiots in here think Russia should be respected. Their military has proven to be trash. Their economy, pre this shat, was half the size of California. Congrats they have nukes. So they are Pakistan. Awesome.

Idk. I’ve actually purchased items made in Pakistan. I cannot think of a single example of buying anything made in Russia. In business or my personal life.

Although they continue to decline, Russia is still a very massive country with over 180 Million people and the largest landmass on Earth. Issue is that their government doesn't have a clue on how to utilize their resources to grow the nation. Sadly, this is what Gorbachev cited when he broke up the Soviet Union. If Putin had a brain back when he took office, Russia would have stolen a lot of the low-cost industrial jobs with their heavy industry and knowledgeable populace. They could have been what China has been the last 3-4 years. Putin took them into the wrong direction and now they are turning into a failed state.

They are now a vassal state to China

Sad thing is that China is FAR more of a THREAT to Russia than NATO and the US. If Russian leadership had a half a brain, they would see that. China still isn't happy about losing Eastern Siberia to Russia and wants it back. Russia may HAVE to join NATO eventually to protect itself from China.

Putin tried to join NATO right before Clinton left office and NATO rejected the idea.

You have no idea what you are talking about or have any idea how far Russia had sank in the 1990s. Putin has done just fine rebuilding their economy.

NATO's long term game plan seems to be to destroy Russia, and then move to destroying China.

I love history... just don't always have all the details lined up for a great debate.... however, watching the History channel, Hitler invading of Austria smells a lot like what Putin is trying to do. Except Hitler was able to ride into Austria untouched... no issues for him. Now Putin on the other hand seems to have watched the same program and decided Ukraine would welcome him with open arms as well. So, much of the war in Ukraine has been played out 70 years ago... ultimately with results that Putin is not going to appreciate.

Sorry... pretty basic for some of you experts in here.

That’s a pretty decent parallel. From listening to his diatribe when he launched this stupid ass invasion it could be said he viewed his actions as his version of the Anschluss of Austria in 1938 when they became a puppet of Nazi Germany.

It smacks of the old saw... If you ignore history, you are doomed to repeat it.

What Putin and the Russians did was prevent regime change in Syria and helped to stop the killing brought on by ISIS and the Free Syrian army. The US came in and started flooding the place with weapons that ended up in the hands of ISIS.

We are doing the same thing in Ukraine. Who knows where the hell all of those weapons are going to end up after this. These weapons dumps are going to be a problem for Europe for a while.
Probably, but hey at least the defense contractors get paid

It doesn't bother me, if they don't want to be part of Ukraine go be part of Russia. Large portions of Texas Arizona and New Mexico are Hispanic. If they don't want to be part of the US they have an easy choice that doesn't involve armed conflict in an already established country.
Er, you may want to check how those places came to be part of the US. It has something to do with Tennessee Volunteers.
