The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Maybe but his worse season was still almost 900 yards while playing 4 less games (3 less if you balance out the additional game).

50% of those yards came in 3 games. So he got ~450 yards in the other 9 games (he basically missed the Indy game though technically played). $25M per for that doesn’t make sense particularly if he’s lost performance due to injury.

Plus they may have felt he was truly going to sit next season so got value where value was available. I think I’m seeing their strategy as much as it sucks losing Brown.

Could Robinson not have got more for AJ than what he did?

I'd have thought a 2nd or 3rd next season on top of what he got in this year's draft?

Sure it is....all GMs have busts. You just focus on him. Cause you are negative as hell.

I focus on him because he is our GM. Should I bring up the 2018 draft or the Wilson pick? We basically haven't had a 1st round draft pick since 2019 when we drafted an injured Jeffrey Simmons and followed that up with Wilson and than Farley.

Should the titans just start a rebuild? I mean let’s be honest they don’t have the horses right now but they’re too good to get a high draft pick. Henry is great now but RBs don’t last long at all

We should but RT is just good enough to win regular season games and get into the playoffs which sets us back in the draft. Henry is another year older now and coming off an injury and we still haven't done anything to upgrade the offensive line either.

Exactly this team won’t win a super bowl trading Henry would suck but right now he has value

No sir..You said J-Rob is broken. Mistakes sure, bad mistakes. But as a GM has he not led the team out of 8-8 hell? That is all I care about. There are all sorts of character, salary cap, needs and other issues. Job is certainly muuuuuuch more informed than you or I in evaluation and all sorts. They make mistakes and know it, and have to compensate and roll the dice all over with other 22 year olds..well frankly kids.

Which would be an interesting statistic...Juts how many 1st rounders are still on their draft team.

He had a small window to compete for a Super Bowl and we almost got there but that window is closing or may have already closed. We are a run first team with an injured and older star RB, an offensive line that has too many holes in it, a QB that chokes in big games, and we traded away a proven #1 WR to bet on a rookie to replace him. He is also the same GM that has given out horrible contracts that have put us in salary cap hell as well. Can he work himself out of this sure but he'll need to strike a lot of gold.

The patriots gave up one of the best guards in the nfl for a 6th round pick and then replaced him with a guy they could have got in the 3rd.

That’s titans level bad.

I've given J-Rob credit in turning around the franchise but his last few drafts have been busts and its really not up for debate.
This draft has hardly begun, and so far he's shed a long term problem, added the closest thing to him, by most accounts a top 3 wr in this draft and gained picks.

If anything it seems like he's learned from the past couple of years. Still a lot of draft to go but I like these moves so far, this coming from a guy who was very critical of his moves the past few years.

Or keep him because he had one more year on his contract. I wish more teams would hold tough on these player demands.

And if he sits out? They get nothing for him basically.

They made him an offer, he responded by cutting the team off completely (or perhaps in the other order), and they cut bait.
