The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

That doesn't change my mind.

Do we wait to pick a QB when we are in full rebuild mode?

We aren't going to have a high draft pick next year.

So next year we pick a QB late first round? Or get one in the third round?

Or Kenny Pickett whose mature, just about as athletic as RT and is the most NFL ready of all the QB's in the draft?

We are rolling with RT this year. But we've already seen him regress. The moment he really starts to suck we are absolutely screwed.

I've been saying IOL first few times for years but no Jrob had to get some random can't play lineman every year 🙄

It’s impressive to go 0 for 2 on offensive tackles in such a high profile way. Guys so bad they can’t even play guard are rare

2022 NFL Draft: Scout Explains Why These Prospects Should Be Avoided in First Round - Sports Illustrated New York Jets News, Analysis and More
A one-hit wonder who looks jumpy in the pocket. Prior to 2021, he threw a high interception-to-touchdown ratio over his first four college seasons (39 TD/25 INT). Pickett is rough around the edges and he does not throw the easiest ball to catch. Now his small-sized gloved hand will attempt to throw an even bigger NFL-regulation sized football.
Im all for taking a QB, but Pickett will be a bust, honestly all the QB's in this draft will. Let's wait on the cap hit for RT to go down next off season and see what happens. Im eyeballing Dak or Carr.

That’s a list of some of the worst takes I’ve ever seen. Even called a 4.5 defensive end “slow”

The biggest issue is we don’t have a second round pick (thanks to the Julio Jones trade). So not addressing other actual roster needs…is going to end up hurting this year. WR and Guard are two huge ones right now, followed by things like TE, CB, OLB.

Taking Pickett, etc, right now with that situation, those needs amid less picks, and no second round pick feels indicative of the team almost throwing hands up in a “don’t think there’s much chance this team’s doing much of anything this year / we can’t fill these holes well” message here…especially with holes like that getting left open.

(And a bit of a sidebar: if part of your worry in all this is being stuck and unable to expel/push out a Tannehill whose play continues worsening until his current contract ends in 2025, the penalty for cutting him drastically decreases from $57.8 mil to $18.8 mil next year before 6/1/23 (after 6/1/23, it turns into about $9.6 mil in dead cap in 2023 and again in 2024)
