War in Ukraine

If we liquidate Russian foreign currency that they left in our system, and we have since frozen, this thing pays for itself 3 times over.

Not sure we need to go there liquidating other nations capital.

Gonna give you a WaPo 3 Stretch Armstrongs...lol Luv u bud

Why not? They were dumb enough to leave it in our grasp. We are only spending this money bc they are ass hats. We take it cover our costs. Give any extra to Ukraine to rebuild. American tax payer out zero dollars. Sounds like a hell of a plan to me.

Rabbit hole.

I’d argue individual funds are off limits. I’m not a fan of the seizing all these yachts and funds of individuals. Like you said rabbit hole. But anything in Putin’s name or belonging to Russian state I say grab it and don’t think twice.

Disagree.

The CCP could nationalize all US assets on a whim.

I see this conflict as just some side event when the real game is with the CCP

Yep they could. Tit for tat I agree they could. And that’s fair as far as I’m concerned. Other than some T bills they might own I don’t see any exposure though. I’d guess any equity our petroleum companies have in Russian developments is already gone.

Kyiv:
Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Thursday that Ukraine needs $7 billion per month to make up for economic losses caused by Russia's invasion of his country.
Zelenskiy, in a virtual address to a World Bank forum, said the global community needed to exclude Russia immediately from international financial institutions, and urged all countries immediately to break up relations with Moscow.

Most of those individual funds are probably Russian state funds that got "redirected."

No, I said, why did we care that Russia was meddling in Ukraine? To which, no one has yet to answer.

It seems like several posters pointed out that we and Russia signed an agreement that said Russia would keep it's grimy mitts off Ukraine, and if they didn't we were obligated to help Ukraine.
