Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Oh yeah. The panoptics lens I chose is $4100 extra out of my pocket. But it’s multi power as well as astigmatism correction. So if it works as advertised should even need reading glasses unless something changes longer term

Any idea how long those have been available? I don't recall that as an option at all - just the toric implants for astigmatism if you were willing to pay more, and those are absolutely worth it.

The strangest part to me was that when they did anesthesia for the first eye; they may not have gone far enough. There was no pain, but I do remember them coating the eye with stuff like betadine and then the surgeon asking me to look at the light. That was weird because I would have told you that there was no way I was going to be OK with someone cutting on my eye. I mentioned it to them before the second surgery, and I don't remember anything about that one. I wasn't complaining, just telling them there was no pain but I thought the experience was interesting.

This old man eye topic sure did shut down the abortion/Ukraine war/Biden is an idiot threads didn't it?

Yep. Don't know about you, but I'm starting to get quite a collection of those little ID cards that go with things implanted in your body.

$4100? Mine was $2700 I guess you have a lot of Commifornians bidding up the price?
Who knows. This was their grand poo bah lens and that was $4100 PER EYE. Toric for astigmatism, multi power for bi/trifocal near/far, and reading glass correction too. Basically 3 or up to 6 powers in one if you consider astigmatism. I’ve worn glasses since 3rd grade and contacts since I was 16. I thought I could spend some money on myself.

I think this variant of lens is fairly new just a few years. But it’s just the latest evolution in this lens style design.

Found it. August 2019

What do you charge now? McDad might want to know.

I went for the top o the line lens also. I had one of my eyes done several years ago with a regular lens and my doctor recommended this new just released lens for this go around that would allow far, mid and close up vision. So far it's only been so so, but I have ditched the reading glasses I've worn for the last 20+ years and only wear them for the tiny cell phone print. I go in next week for a Yag laser capsulotomy that my doc says will clear things up.

I just wear readers so will just take care of cataracts when needed.

Left home this morning at 10AM, running late to get my McDonalds coffee about 1/2 mile up the road.Sat in the Kroger lot posting on VN till about noon. Followed up with why I had not been offered the new job and he said he never got my email 10 or so days ago.All settled up now. Made a few calls to friends and others about what I should do. Posted some more on VN. Got a text from the owner wanting to know if I needed some company shirts. Crap, it is 4PM and I am still sitting there. Made run to beer store.

So in effect, guess we can say I am on a 32 hour work week already. #checkedout

There are several 4 lane roads in charlotte where the CFA has to pay cops to direct traffic at lunch bc the DOUBLE drive thrus with a half dozen smiling college kids outside taking orders go waay out in the roads and screw traffic. Can still be eatimg bird there 15mins after getting in line thpugh.

Other post was right. Cfa owns all locatioms. If you have the $ and great references etc etc to become an "operator" you stand a 1 in 100 chance roughly from what i have read due to tens of thousands of qualified applicants trying every year. They ARE the most profitable fast food company to "operate " though i believe $500k a year profit on average. Subway is least profitable at about 200k a year on average but is cheapest buy in as well at maybe 200k up front IIRC...

CFA owners make more money in 6 days a week than any other does in 7days....and by FAR has the smartest kids applying to work at their stores with an average GPA close to a 4.0....apparently teens etc consider it far more prestigous/desirable than working at McDs etc so the applicants are elite talent among their peers. Also Christian kids gravitate towards these jobs bc of no Sunday work and of course acceptance of their beliefs in store i guess too ..whoever streanlined their drivethru service needs to take over the DMVs ....DOTs....probably both chambers of congress....etc etc.

Go Vols.

Speaking of hoes - I filled up my gas tank at Costco today. $4.69/gallon for premium unleaded at Costco in Scottsdale. The 20-something year old girl in the car in front of me was filling up her gas tank wearing sheer shorts over a thong. It was quite the show!

So I take it you didn't wonder where she got the money to fill up?

being born in America.

You can get odds on every game playing in the next week, but google doesn't bring that up in the first search.
