Just my own personal and similar story.
About 5 yrs ago, I was trimming my tree at home and was knocked out of it by a huge limb. Unable to breathe, a neighbor ran inside to tell my wife.
Wife asked if I needed to go to hospital and I said no way - Fla game is about to kick off.
Went to medical clinic couple days later complaining of extreme pain and difficulty breathing. X-rays showed couple broken ribs.
I still have minor pain and can't sleep well, but I REFUSE TO MISS A FLA. GAME IF ALIVE!
P.S. - we lost the lousy game.
Glad Overstreet is okay.
Governor of Texas is paralyzed and in a wheelchair today because of a similar freak occurrence. He was jogging and a tree limb crashed down and injured his spine.
Moral of the story…it pays to always be vigilant. But even then, we aren’t as in control of our circumstances as we’d like to think. Unexpected accidents happen.
And please spare us from any political chirping. Regardless of your affiliation, at least have some empathy toward others.
Must be more common than folks think as Texas governor Abbott was hit by a falling tree limb while jogging and is in a wheelchair today as a result. Crazy how fragile life is - just out doing the most innocent activities and disaster can strike you down. Helps one keep their own problems in perspectiveDamn he was hit by a tree,it didn't throw apples at him did it?I mean how unlucky u gotta be to go randomly hiking and get hit by a tree? You prob got a better chance to get hit by lighting.Still sucks that's someone's Husband Dad family so sending prayers up
At least he's not this beaver
