Again you still need cap space to sign draft picks…

Money/cap is only an issue when a team wants it to be. Saints we’re $70Mil+ over the cap and now they’re $26Mil under and didn’t cut anyone.

You seem to have completely missed my argument. Look at what we are paying Woods. I’m saying we could’ve got any of those guys cheaper than Woods.

Meaning we’d have more caproom.

I’m pretty sure they also lead the league in dead cap space. Also didn’t they lose one of the highest paid left tackles and a starting QB?

Am I the only one who would be shopping Tannehill in a 3 way trade that sends Mayfield to us and someone gives the browns a 3rd rounder?

Cap space would be nice.

Maybe send Tannehill to Atlanta for a 3rd and use the third for Baker.

I don’t want any part of Baker Mayfield. But that’s just me.

2021 CLE 3,010 17 13 83.1 60%

2021 TEN 3,734 21 14 89.6 67%

I guess they are just as good. Mayfield’s best completion % was 63% his rookie year. They gave him weapons and a ground game. He didn’t get better.

Yea no thanks to Baker. If he is so good then I’m sure there a lot teams chomping to get him this offseason.

Did not realize until today that Zach Cunningham agreed to a restructure last week that saves them $6.4 M+ cap space.

I think it's money that's being mentioned most often as the counter. RT is, IIRC, a 38+ million cap hit for 2022.

Sure, but there’s a lot to be said for backing your current QB instead of replacing him with a cheaper guy you know isn’t a long term solution.

Understood. I was just pointing out there is another school of thought where a lateral move doesn't really hurt you at the position and saving money there can allow for distinct upgrades in other areas of need.
