Where did you see this? Would love to watch itBuzz Williams went on an absolute warpath last night and I love it. Put the NCAA selection committee on blast like I’ve never seen before.
Literally an 8 minute rant and he even printed out his own research that he was offering to the media about how BS it was they got left out of the tournament.
You're basically saying you don't like him but providing no context for why. What reasoning you have provided has been more than adequately disproven. If you don't like him, that's fine, but he isn't overrated as a college player. He did what he did against elite competition for an entire season. Calling them empty statistics is a pretty weak argument, IMO. His size and lack of elite athleticism will limit him in the NBA, but as a college player, he is phenomenal.I don’t think he’s as good as numbers suggest, like I said. There’s a reason he’s not a high prioritized prospect. UK lacks another decent big so naturally he’s going to produce a lot more numbers, sometimes empty numbers.

Random as heck, but that kid from Baylor, Jeremy Sochan (Fr.) was ranked 115 and is projected to be a first round pick. That's crazy. I feel like you don't see too many of those lower rated kids get projected that high.
Yeah, maybe so. We managed to limit his damage to an extenet, but even then, he had 35 (11.7 ppg) points and 38 rebounds (12.7 rpg) in 3 games against Tennessee. Even that isn't anything to sneeze at, and still, those numbers are significantly lower than his seasonal average across 33 games (17 ppg and 15.2 rpg).TBF to him.
If you only watched him play against us, you’d think he was overrated. But I agree with you.
Also, he put up those numbers on less than his normal amount of minutes due to foul troubles IIRC.Yeah, maybe so. Just for context, Tshiebwe outrebounded our top 3 rebounders (JJJ, Fulk, and Vescovi) combined, 500 to 475. That's just incredible production.
I will agree that his defense is overrated due to his defensive rebounding numbers.

I just don’t get your argument. Numbers don’t lie. The guy is a beast and quietly averages a double/double plus more. Maybe he is a “quiet” guy, but he is remarkably productive. I also think he will end up a very good NBA player. Not great, but good.He doesn't pass the eye test to me.
Feels like a lot of his rebounds come from rebounding his own misses inside. He's a rebounding machine, sure, but no where near a top 5 player in college, to me.
I'll take Buzz after Barnes retires.
I think Buzz is a terrific coach. I think his oddities might be a cause of concern in his future hirings.I’m pretty sure Buzz would have considered us when he left Marquette. He didn’t get along with his AD and was looking to get out. But timing wasn’t good. He was hired at VTech in mid to late March in 2014 while Cuonzo was making his run to the SS. Then, we had to wait until mid April.
The one issue with Buzz leaving A&M is that he is from Texas. But I’ve always thought he was a great coach.
