None of those were 5*s. Not even close to a top 5/10 player. There is a big gap between those level of players. It's a steal if he pans out and is a 1st round pick. If he's the next JG, Quinten Dormady, or Harrison Bailey, then it's a foolish investment. Quite a gamble to take given our recent history at the position.
Arch doesn't have a single dime to his name unless his daddy or uncle have gifted him some or he's worked on the side and saved a little. This would be his own money. Not every rich family gives cash to their kids, even if they're well taken care of. Many will tell the kid to go make their own way.Arch Manning does not need nil money
Opportunities on hand for the next 10 months will give Iamaleava a chance to finish as the No. 1-ranked QB in 2023 when all is said and done.
"I definitely think Nico has a legitimate opportunity to finish as the No. 1 guy,” Singletary said. "It’s exciting to see all three of these young kids and all three bring something different to the table. They’re all very talented and all at three different places in their development. ... There's still a long way to go. Hopefully we can see them compete with each other this summer. Then there's the senior year and then the post-season All-American Games. Nico can be that No. 1 guy if he continues to progress at the rate he's developing now".

I believe Bailey ended up a 5*. And I believe JG was the top dual threat in his class, a 4*. There are reasons not to put too much faith in recruit rankings.None of those were 5*s. Not even close to a top 5/10 player. There is a big gap between those level of players.
Think of recent top 5 QBs...you have Tlaw...Young...Fields...and so on.
Merely top 100-200 QBs are a dime a dozen and, yes, certainly wouldn't be worth as much.
If he signs with UT he will definitely not be ranked number 1. They simply will not allow it247 article on him. Says he has the most growth left of the top 3 QBs.
Also didn't realize he was now #3 overall on 247 and with a legit shot of becoming #1...

Harrison Bailey absolutely was a 5* QB (Rivals). Not a top 5 overall player necessarily, but both he and Guarantano were both top-3 at their position.None of those were 5*s. Not even close to a top 5/10 player. There is a big gap between those level of players.

Think about the deals JG, Hunter Johnson, Gunner Kiel and all the guys who can’t beat out Stetson Bennett would have gottenThe list of 5* QB busts is long. I'm shocked at the numbers being thrown around before a guy takes his first college snap. Now if the deals are are backloaded in such a way that performance will ultimately affect the outcome, then maybe.
Bailey finished #99. Not even close to a 5*.I believe Bailey ended up a 5*. And I believe JG was the top dual threat in his class, a 4*. There are reasons not to put too much faith in recruit rankings.
It's even worse than that. Nobody on Rivals wanted him a 5*...except one...who was very vocal about going to bat for HB and yelled from the mountaintop how he was the only guy that saw the specialness in him...a very special guy that singlehandedly pushed him in....Bailey was a 4 star on the composite, but he was a 5 star on Rivals.
