War in Ukraine

US force reduction under Obama has left us hurting. Especially with our Navy and airforce.

The ones we have left can use their crt and pronoun training to thwart the invasion. The non-deployable trannies may have to send them an email or strongly worded letter. That’ll show them. Russia couldn’t have picked a worse time to invade with our all time great readiness.

Of course, Trump would say that now... but when did Trump ever stand up to Vladimir Putin while he was the President of the United States?

In December of 2020, Donald Trump sided with Putin's denial of Russian involvement in the massive cyber attack against American businesses, over the conclusion of his own Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo. Trump is never critical of Putin. Trump only kisses Putin's butt.
Dude. You need to take up a hobby. Maybe some Dungeons and Dragons or a local bridge club or maybe some badminton. Anything to get your mind off Trump.

Bulls****. Nothing Trump did strengthened NATO. He committed to reducing the number of US troops in Europe by 10s of thousands, especially in Germany. He did ask that European nations invest more money in there defense. But any way you cut it Putin was a fan of Trump's NATO policies.

"Germany, he said, is not meeting its commitment to spend 2% of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) on defense as required by the NATO alliance. Member nations had pledged to reach the 2% threshold by 2024. Germany has said it hopes to reach the target by 2031." https://www.dw.com/en/trump-to-cut-us-troop-numbers-in-germany/a-53822850

Why not reduce from nearly 39K troops in Germany to 25K? Why not more troops, wouldn't that be (chuckle!) even greater deterrence to Putin?
Why should we stand in defense for decades of countries in Russia's shadow who have pathetic military capability and can't be bothered to fund their defense?

I don't think Germany has that veto power. I think it's a 20+ person council in Belgium that decides.
It appears to indicate that it needs to be unanimous. Not really clear in that. But either way, Germany has one foot in and one foot out.

Conceding that BoJo's appeal is merely theatrical, the FT notes that even Downing Street has conceded that any move regarding Swift could only be done with international agreement, a position shared by the Biden administration. “We have to do it together,” the British official said.

I went in yesterday and there was a television screen, and I said, “This is genius.” Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine — of Ukraine. Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that’s wonderful.
^^^^ This is obviously Donald Trump paying Vladimir Putin a compliment. ^^^^

So, Putin is now saying, “It’s independent,” a large section of Ukraine. I said, “How smart is that?” And he’s gonna go in and be a peacekeeper. That’s strongest peace force… We could use that on our southern border. That’s the strongest peace force I’ve ever seen. There were more army tanks than I’ve ever seen. They’re gonna keep peace all right. No, but think of it. Here’s a guy who’s very savvy… I know him very well. Very, very well.
^^^^ This is Trump paying Putin another compliment. ^^^^

Do you have a link to Trump ever being critical of Putin? No, you don't. It's never actually happened.

That was a reference to our commitment to NATO and freedom. We were never going to defend Ukraine with blood. What do you mean by "you won't bear any burden"?
We aren't sending troops. And neither you or I would volunteer to go. That "commitment" was made when and by who? We have to stick to that forever?

This was the America I remember: "Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty."
We have issues with liberty right here on our home turf.

Don't make me batter you over the head - again - with a laundry list of Trump's actions against Russia. Again, if Trump was such a supporter, why bookend his tenure with invasions but not during his?

Probably because after 3 years of it trying to frame him, Trump has a reflexive distrust of Intel and FBI whose corrupt butts the left can't get enough of.
