War in Ukraine

Lol. Good lord.

Ok lets look at the appropriations...it is $50M in lethal aid with the $250M appropriation (not going to even look up the State $150M)... lets go down the rabbit hole..

Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2019, Pub. L. No. 115-245, div. A, title IX, § 9013, 132 Stat. 2981, 3044–45 (Sept. 28, 2018).

this section, $50,000,000 shall be available only for lethal assistance described in paragraphs (2) and (3) of section 1250(b) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2016 (Public Law 114– 92; 129 Stat. 1068): Provided further, That the Secretary of Defense shall, not less than 15 days prior to obligating funds provided under this heading, notify the congressional defense committees in writing of the details of any such obligation: Provided further, That the United States may accept equipment procured using funds provided under this heading in this or prior Acts that was trans- ferred to the security forces of Ukraine and returned by such forces to the United States: Provided further, That equipment pro- cured using funds provided under this heading in this or prior Acts, and not yet transferred to the military or National Security Forces of Ukraine or returned by such forces to the United States, may be treated as stocks of the Department of Defense upon written notification to the congressional defense committees:

Of course we could look at Obama's assistance..

FACT SHEET: U.S. Security Assistance to Ukraine

This assistance includes:
  • A new tranche of $5 million for the provision of body armor, night vision goggles, and additional communications equipment. This is in addition to the approximately 300,000 Meals Ready to Eat (delivered in March), as well as assistance for the provision of materiel using Foreign Military Financing to support Ukraine’s armed forces with medical supplies, service member equipment (e.g., helmets, sleeping mats, water purification units), explosive ordnance disposal equipment, and handheld radios.
  • The United States also has allocated Cooperative Threat Reduction funding to support Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service with supplies (e.g., clothing, shelters, small power generators and hand fuel pumps, engineering equipment, communications equipment, vehicles, and non-lethal individual tactical gear).
  • To date, Embassy Kyiv has purchased and delivered 20-person shelters, sleeping bags, fuel filter adapters, barbed wire, patrol flashlights, perimeter alarm systems, fuel pumps, concertina wire, vehicle batteries, spare tires, binoculars, excavators, trucks, generators, food storage freezers, field stoves, and communications gear to the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service, for use in monitoring and securing their borders.
All dog farts in the wind.

Are you really this naive?

Russia does not have a democratic system of elections. Under such a system, the population has their own free choice of who to vote for. That isn't the case in Russia.

Who said anything about fair or valid? By definition they have democratic elections.

But I suppose one would be some stupid ************ to think DC is not some swamp of corruption and think Trump is exceptional.

No, they don't. By definition, they have a farce. A democratic election involves the population choosing the officeholder. That doesn't happen in Russia.

Democracy...
a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives.

So by definition they are. He must have ballot harvesting as well.

We are not talking about a democracy, moron. We are talking about a democratic system of elections.

A democratic system involves the population choosing and replacing government officeholders through free and fair elections.

These people need to be very careful in the defense they use of Ukraine soverignty or national identity, because that defense may end up being used by Palestinians...

Snyder explained that Lenin did not create Ukraine, but rather his recognition of it as a distinct Soviet republic came about precisely because he recognized there was an existing national identity that needed to be addressed.

You disagree they dont have public elections?

Oh, sure, Russia has 'public elections'.

It ain't like here, and their 'democratic process' is hardly free and fair. Just ask anyone in the free press... scratch that, there is no free press. Just ask legitimate challengers to Putin in these elections... scratch that, they get poisoned or disappear (SEE: Alexei Navalny). Just ask Putin. Yep, ask Putin if he wins Russian elections (SEE: "Won" 77% of the vote).

Russia’s rigged elections look nothing like the US election – they have immediate, unquestioned results there

By that standard we don’t have a ”democratic system of elections” either.

Analysis: Donald Trump sides with Vladimir Putin as Joe Biden tries to stop a war - CNNPolitics

"I went in yesterday and there was a television screen, and I said, 'This is genius.' Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine, of Ukraine, Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that's wonderful," Trump said in an interview on "The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show."
The ex-President added: "So Putin is now saying, 'It's independent,' a large section of Ukraine. I said, 'How smart is that?' And he's going to go in and be a peacekeeper. That's the strongest peace force," Trump said. "We could use that on our southern border. That's the strongest peace force I've ever seen. ... Here's a guy who's very savvy. ... I know him very well. Very, very well."

This is why it's better to have Biden.

Biden said it was ok as long as it was a small incursion.

If Biden was actually doing anything he would be able to stand in front of people and explain. He is not in charge and having our country run by a bunch of unelected party lifers is not a positive for the USA

There hasn’t been a moment in the past 13 months that anyone could honestly and logically use that statement.

Stop digging.

It's only slight more democratic than the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea.
