Alvin Kamara arrested in Las Vegas for Assault

Kamara's story sounds like BS. He just pissed away a ton of money.
To AK's credit, he is handling this thing the right way I think.
He knows he is out a ton of cash, but smart enough to know he needs to keep a lid on the damages AND stay out of any jail time.
So he's keeping quiet...wouldn't be surprised if in the background there aren't lawyers making negotiations to pay that guy some serious money to never speak of this again.

Not sure who said it first, but my Mom always told us boys - "NOTHING good ever happens after midnight...NOTHING !!!"

Since the bar let them all leave and didn't call the cops, they're anonymous.

AK was likely IDed because he's on video banking the night with his ID and credit card. Unless AK gives the rest of the guys up to the cops, they'll never be known.
Kamara IDed his associates when the police questioned him. My guess is they have left town. I won’t be surprised if they are arrayed at a later date.

This is gonna be bad (and costly). The police pulled the video from Drai's club. 6:30 am Alvin and the chipdrunks were getting on an elevator. Random dude called someone in Kamara's posse ugly. Dude then tries to join Alvin and the chipdrunks in the elevator. Alvin pushes him to keep him out. Random chipdrunk then decks the guy. Guy goes down and gets stomped upon his chest and face 23 times. Dude was knocked out and his orbital was smashed. Alvin punched him 8 times, 3 times after he was down. The dude that got beat never swung on anyone. Ugh...

Police: Alvin Kamara, others beat man unconscious, broke his eye socket

I get that but you don't think your business would be liable if I had a felony committed against me and your security simply stopped the fight and got me aid and didn't even TRY to call the police on the people who beat me and stomped me in your establishment?
Is it the establishment's responsibility to press charges on behalf of their guests? That's an interesting concept. And if they can't press charges on behalf of the victim, is it their responsibility to report it? Seems they'd only call the police if they were pressing charges for the disturbance, and that would be their call?

This was around 6:30 AM? Nothing good ever happens if you get out of bed too early. :)

Yeah sounds bad. that being said it sounds like something was going on before the camera footage started. In any case, Alvin needs to take a deep look into those he surrounds himself with and how much he exposes himself to bad situations. When u Make money like that you should never be out exposed like that. Folks are gonna test you hoping for an outcome like this. The dude probably was laying on the ground seeing dollar signs instead of stars. every punch and kick made a ka-ching sound. I do think its ironic they say he only could describe one of his assailants.. Kamara... He couldn't describe the ugly one? Also the 5k bail makes me think its probably not as bad as some might think (the charges he is facing). That sounds more like high misdemeanor bail to me.

All jokes aside. Alvin needs to take this as a lesson and focus on playing football.

Shouldn't you have enough security at your club that someone can't get beaten to a pulp?

Shouldn't you be a good enough community member that you don't then escort the people who beat someone unconscious out of the club?

I'm not an attorney but there's got to be some reasonable expectation of security in a business.

Well he was unconscious for quite a bit of his beating, so I don't think he was seeing much at all.. Especially out of that eye that's swollen shut because his orbital socket is broken all to hell...

I mean they beat, kicked and stomped a man who was on the ground and unconcious, so yea, definitely doesn't sound bad at all...... 🙄

Oh look, another violent millionaire criminal produced by pro sports.

The conduct of Alvin and his posse is beyond disgusting if the video and report is true. It's going to cost him big time, and it should. He could have simply exited the elevator and used another one instead, even used the stairs rather than going macho and rabid. I have no doubt he will get what he deserves for being irrevocably stupid. When you're famous, you should know you're going to be targeted by all kinds of jackasses and ass-jacks. Now, as for you who are mocking and damning him, there are no perfect people, including you. And don't forget to also damn the cowards who shoot students at schools, church attendants at churches, movie theaters, shoppers at malls, department and grocery stores. I mean, if you're going to damn the damnable, make it equal opportunity damning, millionaires or not.

I've not seen that. MAYBE the LVPD and DA are going to let Kamara try to pay the man and make this go away instead of prosecute it.

The police apparently didn't publicize the names of the others as "wanted in connection with a beating" to blow it up further. Maybe they'll encourage this to find a rug and crawl under it.

One of the good/bad things about this is that Kamara spoke with the police with no attorney.

That's dumb but it tells me AK hasn't had a ton of experience in these situations. It's a rookie mistake and that's a little something leads me to think this was a "one off" incident and not a pattern in his life.

As for the "nothing good happens after midnight" line, a friend claimed to have told his Mom: C'mon, I've heard you and Dad at night........

The context was calling the police, not preventing beforehand. And the subject was legal responsibility, not meeting various people's expectations as community members.

Just say they prevented the violent group from leaving, and one of them then assaulted someone else. Does hotel security have the legal right to detain someone? To subdue them while they await police? Forcing them to stay on prem without being handcuffed or locked up, their actions become the responsibility of the hotel?

But again... Weren't we talking about lawsuits as opposed to community preferences? And when it comes to community preferences, doesn't the community have to consider what personal responsibilities we're asking an establishment to take on? At the end of the day, the hotel is not the police, and they could end up in much deeper droppings if they try to become the police. Seems to me, break it up, separate, protect and call for medical help. Then let the police be the police after you've triaged the situation.

When someone is unconscious, it's hard for them to call the police to help them. MAYBE that's the point of security at a place: so fights don't get to the point where someone is jumped by 3-4 guys and beaten unconscious. MAYBE if that occurs, the establishment should call the police for the unconscious person.

Just speculation, but I'm seeing issues with how this was handled.

You asked about legal responsibilities, and when that was challenged, you're now arguing personal expectations.

And this happened outside an elevator, in a corridor. It's as though you're asking that every patron have a personal bodyguard or have enough security to keep all customers in view, no matter where they are. You'd never be able to afford a hotel stay due to the salary overhead.

The fact of the matter is that we live in a fallen world with bad people in it. Bad things are going to happen. It'll be unavoidable, and you're going to make it an unaffordable society if you promote litigious culture that tries to unthinkingly hold folks responsible for the actions of others.

A posse curb stomped someone in a corridor. The hotel broke it up, separated the aggressors from the victim, protected him, got him medical help, and seem to have helped in the investigation. My goodness...

No. I'm talking about legal issues.

I get beaten unconscious in your club and your response is to call an ambulance and escort the people who beat me from the club.

Obviously, there's been a crime in your establishment but you don't care enough to call the police.

I'm thinking of suing for negligence. You're creating an environment that is unsafe for the public because if crime happens in your building, you're not engaged enough to call the police.

I suspect you'll be paying their legal expenses after losing the "but they didn't call the police for me" case.

Provoke a fight with a celebrity millionaire, get your ass kicked, and get a nice payday. Stole that from Mitch Green's playbook. Didn't work out too well for Mitch either.

If all this is true, I hope kamara chokes on his dumb as he** grill. What a bunch of thug wanna be losers. And yet, nothing serious will happen because he’s got money.
