Tennessee football: 2022 way-too-early game-by-game predictions

LSU is a wild card.
Florida, Alabama and Georgia will be judgement games.

I like our shot at the playoffs.

Bama is on the verge of going back to the cellar. Why not start that trend this fall.

Georgia is still partying like it’s 1980.They will drop off.

Florida is one more bad season of being another Mizzou.

I feeling good about 22.

Wonder how they feel/see us? Not that it makes much difference either way. But I wonder if they see "coming" at the pace you see them falling.

South Carolina will also be much tougher next year, and it's there.
I'm encouraged by Heupel so far but we've got a long way to go before we just start assuming wins against the majority of the teams on the schedule. I agree with some others that in this new era it's best to wait and see what the rosters of teams look like going into fall camp before you do too much prognosticating. I'm fairly certain Bama and UGA will be out of reach and we'll be out of Vandy's and the other cupcakes but all the rest may move closer one way or another between now and fall camp based on our roster movement, and theirs.

I'm expecting a regression, so 5-7. @GA, AL, @Pitt, FL, @lsu, KY, @SC losses. A few of these are toss-up games so hopefully we do better. I think the defensive roster is worse as of right now - I don't see how we stop anybody. Also, we're expecting great things from the offense but big shoes to fill in Velus Jones & Payton. O-line depth and lack of star RB are problems.

2 SEC wins? No Bowl?
That will certainly knock the gild off the lily that is new coach.
First two years with a 3 SEC win average.
Last coach did not survive a 3 win season.
Let us hope for a top ten recruiting class in 23 or the natives will get restless and want to go on the warpath.

I agree that would test the fortitude of the most hardened Vol fan. I hope I'm wrong, just feels like it's coming.

9-3, I’ll take it. I think the LSU game will be close, a toss up. They got a good coach, but it’s still his first year and he needs buy-in from the team. We will have found our rhythm by then.

The odds of us going 5-7 are exceedingly low. Like doesn't really make any sense based on how well our coaches have performed over the last year.

We were like 3 plays away from being 10-3 and we bring back 90% of the roster plus a top 15 recruiting class most of whom are early enrollees and many got to practice in bowl preparation. (and best PWO class ever lol) We will get transfers after spring. Who knows how impactful they will be, but at the very least they will improve depth just as we did last year after the spring.

Also bringing back the entire coaching staff that just broke all types of records in year one of a complete rebuild with only 72 scholarship players.

Think about all the players that improved dramatically with this staff. Literally everyone improved and some dramatically across the board.

You're gonna bank on that just not happening?

We bring almost everyone back and no one will improve and no transfers will improve the roster whatsoever?

We will lose to Pitt who lost their 1st round QB who we barely lost to last year with Milton starting and missed 6 would be touchdown passes to wife open dudes running down the field, Hooker thrown in there not ready yet, Jaylen Wright at RB, no Byron Young, Hyatt knocked out, other injuries, 3 turnovers and 13 penalties?

Somehow USCjr will be 28 points better than we will even though we dismantled them last year and have beaten them 3 years in a row?

Kentucky who we beat on the road last year is going to win back to back games in Neyland!?!?

Will we have found SEC level talent and depth by then?

We could have easily lost the Kentucky game and they have out recruited us. SC doesn't have a stiff at QB any more and they are tough at home. Beamer had them playing well late in the season. I don't see how anyone could count those as sure wins.

Pump on brother.
Did I miss your 2022 prediction?
Will it include the moral victories you counted for your mythical 10-3 2021 season?
You calling out a rational post for not making sense with the sunshine you pumped is the best laugh I've had this week.
Go on record with your actual 2022 prediction. You don't get three do-over plays nor do should haves count.
Somehow I suspect his prediction will be closer than yours. Sometimes he probably removes his orange goggles
.Let's agree to bump this thread after the regular season.

It's sunshine pumping to say we in all likelihood won't finish 5-7?

Are you literally retarded?

Predicting 5-7 is brought to you buy the worst kind of BVS and not reality.

Yep everything is going to fall apart and nothing good we did will translate to year two and Heupel isn't the guy.

Thats what 5-7 is.

Everything possible going wrong to go wrong.

No one gets better.

We get zero out of our recruits.

We get no transfers who impact the roster.

Hooker regresses in year two with the same staff that has made him a top SEC QB.

Everything will just always fall apart at UT. Nothing will ever work out. Thou shalt piss on any positivity. Heupel's first year was a total ruse.

So rational yeah

They know what’s coming.

The Vols are on the way back. JH’s offensive plan is a good one. Don’t let up on that idea.

Defense needs to gamble more to create turnovers. If we allow a team to have a 10+ play drive that ends in points, we haven’t gambled enough. Drives like that can really change a defense for the rest of a half or game.

Offense needs fewer mistakes too.

Make your prediction.
I still have not seen it.
I neither agreed nor disagreed with 5-7.
Calling someone literally retarded when you obliviously have no respect for any opinion but your own is not a sign of superior intellect.
But to answer your question, anyone that thinks we were 3 plays away from a 10-3 season is pumping sunshine.

Vols 2022 season W-L record? I don't know. I do know games against P5 schools will be, will be, will be the:

I think Bama, UGA, and LSU will be losses. I could also see us dropping one between Florida (probably this one because of how snakebit we are against them), Kentucky, or South Carolina.

So I'm thinking 8-4.
