I think there are a couple distinctions to be made. First, I do believe that the FDA should authorize emergency use for the vaccine in this age group So that it is available for those at high risk. Second, I think the CDC should recommend it be given after discussion with your pediatrician in cases of kids at extremely high risk.
However, the CDC will overstep and they will recommend all children in this age group received the vaccine. And then that will be the platform for which the government mandates these children to be vaccinated as well.
If you look back at the comments from the FDA regarding 5–11–year-olds, they basically approved emergency use so that it would be available to kids that needed it. It was the CDC recommended that all kids get the shot.
