To Protect and to Serve II

I just laid out and explained to you that I support laws that go after real victims (theft, murder, etc). You, on the other hand support every law that is passed by some bureaucrat no matter if it is victimless or not.

"The Man" is victimizing more people than all of the drug dealers and users combined.
Says the person who doesn’t have a clue and doesn’t directly see everyday in neighborhoods, with families, or the scores of victims and the effects these crimes have on them.

How would the legalization cause thefts and violent crimes to drop? California and Colorado are great examples of this big lie. Hogg, you’re invited to the beer summit. Lol

😆 come on dude.

What happened to crime after prohibition ended?

Unless Tim and Ricky believe alcohol possession should be illegal and punishable by imprisonment they are.. surprise surprise, massive hypocrites.

It didn’t go away

No of course crime didn‘t go away but crime associated with gangs fighting for territory related to illegal booze went away.

Legalize drugs and treat them like booze. Crime associated with drugs would plummet.

Until more people became addicted, then the entire US would look like LA or San Francisco. Legalizing addictive drugs is not a good idea.

It’s not the same thing at all

I would bet we wouldn’t see much of any increase in drug use, they’re so easy to get now anyone wanting to do drugs doesn’t have any problems getting them. I don’t know of anyone including myself that doesn’t do drugs because they are illegal.

You keep saying that without providing any evidence to the contrary.

Look at countries that have legalized/decriminalized and what are their stats on drug use and abuse?
It’s not the same as our populations and drug usage. Addicts who are alcoholics don’t rob and break into cars and houses and shoplift to fuel their habits. Which wouldn’t be cheaper with “legalized” heroin or meth. Not to mention the societal costs for healthcare issues

People are people and addicts are addicts if the countries that have legalized haven’t seen increases in abuse and crime we wouldn’t either.

Lol other countries don’t have the same populations, correlations with mental illness, diversity nor gang issues. Our issues are unique to us.

I didn't do drugs when I was younger because I was afraid of being arrested. Addictive drugs scare the hell out of me because of what has happened with fentanyl. I watched a great guy get hooked on opioids and destroy his life because of a work injury. Say what you want about drugs, but you're wrong in my eyes. I'm okay with marijuana, but after that forget it.

Sorriest excuse yet.
Truth. You don’t deal with drug addicts on a daily basis and know their stories and what they are going thru or doing. You have no clue from a law enforcement perspective, from a healthcare perspective or from a societal perspective about addiction or the societal ills and crimes it produces. You are simply clueless on this topic

True but I do know that the WoDs hasn’t done anything to help, it’s only made things worse. How long do you keep doing something that doesn’t work before you realize you need to try something different?

That’s a terrible comparison. Drugs are infinitely more destructive and evil. And it has been playing out for decades

Just like in Afghanistan

You keep saying it doesn’t work.. it has and still does. More effective at it’s height as evidenced in total crime statistics, but still effective today..

What makes the drug trade so evil and destructive? The obscene amount of money involved and as long as drugs are illegal the hardcore criminals will continue to profit.

Y’all keep saying it’s a terrible comparison yet can’t dispute it with any data.
