But of course when businesses were being looted and burnt down during the riots the cops stood down. This was also people making a political statement on someone else’s property. Most of the people rioting weren’t wearing masks. Why weren’t they arrested?

Now we have people who are not bothering anyone being arrested because of an unconstitutional mandate.

How can you even defend this?

There’s this pesky thing called 4th amendment that cops hate.

DTH posted an article about PC above. Cops make up probably cause all the time. Burnt out tag lights, small crack in the corner of your windshield, something hanging on your rearview mirror.

I am 100% for anyone being arrested for looting and arson. And they aren’t being arrested for a mandate. They are being arrested for trespassing

You are 100% for anyone being arrested for looting and arson? Yet you defend LE for standing down? The looters and arsonist were trespassing also, but weren’t arrested because of orders to stand down.

Now people are being arrested for “trespassing” because they are not wearing a mask and you defend this bullsh$t.

So what you are basically saying that laws are not enforced equally or justly by LE? And you are ok with that?

Where do I defend LE “standing down”?
In some riot situations when LE is outnumbered they are asked to leave the area or wait for reinforcements to try not to escalate the situation further.
in some of the riots, they were specifically orders by the mayor or governors of those states to stand down, that’s political BS but they really have no choice.
And you might want to catch up that different jurisdictions have different laws and DAs and judges

You’re defending it now. “They have no choice because of political BS”.

So LE is basically an agent of a politician? So any orders that an elected politician gives they will follow? No matter how wrong? It’s not about enforcing these laws for the “safety” of society, but for political and tax purposes?

Who’s defending it? I’m telling you what happened. And yes LE officers report to their police chief or sheriff and the chiefs especially report to the mayor or city councils.
They can’t arrest people if the DA or judge refuses to prosecute or the magistrate won’t give warrants. Or the mayor specifically orders them down.

Really? Then why is the murder rate up 47%? Why is it more important to enforce a politician’s mandate then protect and serve the citizens?
