But it's still a restriction. The businesses in the case of Florida have the same freedom employees have elsewhere. Comply or find somewhere else to work. They are free to move their company if they dont like the requirements of the state they are working in.I've never argued they should. However a business doing it offers the individual more freedom than a govt mandate either way
Are you saying that moving a business to another state is the same LOE as switching jobs? But it's still a restriction. Nice rant.Damn straight and unlike you when you were in school I haven't taken a day off during this "pandemic". I've worked my butt off to make sure the dumb decisions by the state and local school boards affect the students as little as possible. I hope you aren't a parent because if you are I know for a fact that your kids would be one of the little pos that are constantly disrupting class because their parents are too busy to teach them how to act in a public setting
So it's not about your freedom as a business owner, it's about what you can legally do with your power.
Yeahhhhhhhh. It's not freedom you are chasing here. Its power just like the fed.
Again you are pointing to what you have the power to do. That's doesnt mean you arent restricting freedoms. Just like Desantis has the power to make certain rules for businesses in his state but he is restricting freedom as well. You’re smarter than this, or maybe your not I don’t know. In either case the arguments that an employer cannot dictate what employees do in their off time is asinine. You guys sound like petulant children.
I choose to maintain the drug free workplace designation because it saves on our WC insurance. Without that I wouldn’t give a flying **** if my non DOT employees were smoking outside of work as long as they showed up sober.
It all should have brought into question a lot. As I've said before, the end result of having a corporatist state is virtually no different than an authoritarian government state. The paths look the same. Allowing businesses to dictate much of anything outside of work hours is cancerous overreach and needs to be destroyed. This pandemic and thread has shifted my views on business rights and whether they are equal to individual or employee rights. There should be a hierarchy and the rights of the individual trumps the employer. By Florida saying employers cannot mandate the vaccine they are reinforcing the rights of the individual. Whereas the Fed is removing the right of the individual by coercing the rights of the employer. I have no problem with what Florida has done.
There is a difference between a business mandating something of their employees and the feds doing it. If a company wants to do that and you don't like it you give them the bird and walk out. When the feds make an employer do something I can't just up and leave this country. This pandemic and thread has shifted my views on business rights and whether they are equal to individual or employee rights. You have a very interesting opinion. How can a coporatist state be virtually no different than authoritarian government when the CS lacks the removal of freedoms and liberties to enforce? It all should have brought into question a lot. You are both the same. You both want/can restrict freedom. You are upset that your ability to restrict freedom in this case is being restricted.
Sounds like you have an anger issueDamn straight and unlike you when you were in school I haven't taken a day off during this "pandemic". Where do you think a lot of the regulations, rules, etc. that exist come from? Take the meat industry for example- why are there so few small producers left? You have a very interesting opinion.
