I asked if we would end up top 15 or left at the altar...

Left at the altar.

There is not a more exciting team to watch down the stretch than Tennessee, they are in the mix with so many kids and even a big chunk of their commitment list is shaky. But when it boils down to it I think they've been too active trying to turn committed guys and not as attentive to their own commitments. I think it will end up biting them on Wednesday.

Opinions are like a certain body part....We will find out on Wednesday.

I must admit this is the most anticipation I have ever had for a NSD.

Ouch. I was also thinking about the massive number of recruits that we've had on campus the past couple of weeks. It had to be difficult for this staff to show many of these kids "the love" while they were here.

We definitely are going to be lucky to stay in the top 20-25. Just not enough time to form relationships. I know I sound like a broken record.

it will be interesting. if we end up missing out on some kids and losing some of our commits i am going to stay positve because the staff didn't have the time they needed to get these kids in the first place. IMO

I actually agree with the part about not paying enough attention to current commits.
This staff did need to balance thier attention a little better.

My gut says NSD will be a dreary day for UT fans. Not enough time to develop any relationships with recruits is what will cost us. This hurts especially after the dismal class last year. We are behind the 8 ball.

How did Saban do it then? How is Auburn doing it?

Good question. We most definitely are getting outrecruited by auburn right now. I don't really understand how they are doing it with such a miserable hire.

Everyone obviously got their hopes up too much and are going to meltdown come signing day.

I agree too. It is a risk/reward situation. We will see on Wed. if the reward was worth the risk.

Auburn doesn't have the quality recruits we were going after (as a whole anyway). Saban was a rockstar and had the benefit of having a very solid recruiting home base as well. CLK had neither of those things on his side.

Saban didn't do it with his first class. Auburn isn't pulling top-shelf athletes.

Where is Eddie Gran on all of this? I haven't heard his name mentioned very much recently. I thought he would play a bigger role in taking away fomr Auburn recreuits. Hell, the same for Thompson. Where are the Alabama recruits???

That last line made me think of the "Where the white women at?" quote....sorry, thinking out loud

I am really amazed Wednesday is looking so bleak. I thought for sure we would be in line for a big day with all of the attention UTK and CLK were getting. Oh well, after Wednesday it is on to Phase two, lets see the coaches do their magic on the field (when Spring practice starts).

Currently, Scout ranks our class 9th in the SEC & 4th in the SECE ...that's how we finished last year. We may pick up a player or two to improve the ranking but again it looks like the rich got richer and rest of us are looking to player development as a way to get better.

its not that wednesday is looking so bleak so much as it is unrealistic expectations.

Wednesday is looking pretty bleak though to be honest.

Almost all of our top recruits outside of Askew are rethinking their decision, and it's unlikely we pull in any replacements of the same quality.

I don't see it as an unrealistic expectation to hold the ground we had gained and expect a few highly rated kids to be brought in later given this staffs billing as great recruiters.
