Unprecedented elections tomorrow in Iraq. Over 14,000 candidates for various offices.

Turnout is expected to be over 60%.

When I first saw the thread title,I thought it was about
those hidden billions of Iraqi officials or their padded treasury.

But after reading some post I decided it was about
The U.S.Government paying the cost of 14,000
Individual Political Campaigns.

Sucks doesn't it. The Iraqis get rid of a dictator named Hussein.

We get a wannabe dictator named Hussein.

Yes, the thought of freedom must irk the Hell out of you liberals.

You do understand that in terms of both percentage of GDP and federal spending, OIF is one of the least costly wars in American history, right?

I never have really understood a closed mind.

Very few of you of the other persuasion have the ability
to see a different point of view.Or as your post indicates, resulting in labeling or outrageous comments.

If you have to resort to this type of post at least
throw in a fact or something resembling a debatable comment.

FACT: We won in Iraq. Free elections tomorrow.

FACT: That galls the liberals who declared defeat in Iraq.

Your closed mind, refuses to allow you accept the success. Your hypocrisy is laughable.

The surge worked. We won,but we new that before
the first bomb fell.

Just for the record.Once and for all I stand toward the center. If you have to label me.I would have to say
Old southern democrat,fits best.

With the party lines divided and blurred the way they are
I refuse to accept either label.

So Bush gets credit for anything that goes right, and no blame for anything that goes wrong.

I like the fact that Iraqi's are getting free elections. I think it is good we have a fledgling democracy sprouting in the middle east. It is advantageous to have forward operating bases in such a strategic location. Saddam needed to be delt with and I am glad we finally went in and did it.

None of that changes the WMD story or the fact that this entire war has been completely mismanaged since "mission accomplished". As far as wartime presidents are concerned, Bush was mediocre at best.

Stephen Hadley was pretty much right about the first-term when he said "I give us a B- for policy development, and a D- for policy execution."

I'm entertained by 'mismanaged war' commentary from people who have no idea about strategic management of a war, including all of us.
