However, Brock Jancek's mom is emailing out Happy New Year's messages with the fyi "our boy is getting his first start tomorrow night!". Just got mine...

We'll know in a day if they're playing or not...if not before by a UT statement. I'd guess it's rumor but could also be valid. I thought last year's team didn't do well adapting to inconsistencies of covid scheduling...probably b/c too dependent on 2 frosh developing. I think this year could be different. We are by far the deepest team in the SEC and one of deepest in NCAA. As we move into regular season, I'd imagine we and other teams will have some players not participate in some games, so I think we're better built to absorb a few players being out than others.

Hearing its Fulky and Chandler that are out. If true, huge loss.

JJJ and Uros also might be out, but nothing set there.

I would agree with this if it wasn’t this opponent. Bama has 3 guards that are really really good and are basically all PGs at the next level (Shackleford, Quinerly and the freshman). We need a big game from Kennedy but I’m not gonna put the pressure on him to carry us against a team with elite guards. But shoot I hope he does!

Quentin and Jahmai need 20-30 minutes between them. They’re going to be needed down the stretch run and this is a perfect scenario to get them meaningful minutes. Assuming the rumor is true.

Agree. Jahami’s defense should get him minutes on a decently regular basis, especially in a situation like tomorrow.
