@Orangeslice13, I’ve been watching reruns of The Andy Griffith show after work. For years I’ve avoided it, because dad went through a phase of watching it endlessly. Every time I walked the door, it was blaring and I knew exactly what Andy, Aunt Bee, Barney, etc would say and the characters seemed to be real people to him. After keeping Dad with me during moms surgery (I lost him twice because my work blew up my phone, but I did have staff that tried to help me). He was peaceful throughout the surgery besides the two, ahem, you know. He would talk about memories (got memories that he meshed together, even though they were years apart and sometimes never happened. He never got scared until we had the consultation with the surgeon. I realized after, I had to slow down and enjoy what he and mom enjoy. Oh, I already know you know that, I just wanted you to know, some of us already are walking the walk you are and it is crushing at times. Buddy, I’m here for you, Red and your whole family.
I know, I know, tdlr

the JayBird plan is positive thinking designed to bring about one more good football season for my Dad “JayBird “ before he’s gone. ( slowly losing the battle with Alzheimer’s) He asked if we would see one more good win before he was gone. So this is where I’m expressing that hope. And the occasional JayBird story.

Yesterday was day 1 and were off to a horrible start.

I believe it’s the other way around
I am coughing up phlegm and my lungs are scratchy. My throat hurts and my back hurts behind my lungs. My four limbs are achy and I am chilled. I was running a fever last night. I may not make it through another Christmas.
