I thought the longer the virus survived in a host the better the chance for mutation. Since both vaxed and un-vaxed both can carry the virus, I think your statement would be incorrect.

Both vaxxed and unvaxxed can catch the virus. But the unvaxxed are more likely to catch it and to have it for a longer period time once they catch it than someone who has a breakthrough infection.
