Cobb County is one of the first ring of outlying suburban counties in the ATL MSA. No part of it is within the Atlanta city limits, and residents will have it no other way. Over the decades, Cobb has had corruption scandals, subpar water distribution systems, poor planning, no effective rapid transit coupled with roads insufficient to handle traffic, and burdensome bond issues (one of which brought the Braves out of Atlanta). It’s not exemplary by any measure. Still, it has a public high school partially funded by a private endowment with ~2100 students organized like a small college. It has other commendable attributes.
