Windy's football discussion thread.

I stalk too many, idk if he can keep up! Going to see @VolNExile this weekend for the witch reunion!!👀👀
Say what??

Streets aren’t closed again this year. The organizers had to request the police and firefighter support (street closures, first responders, etc.) in early July, and Delta variant had started roaring through at that point.

Just individual houses giving out candy this year.

I wanted to say so much and did, but deleted it all. I’ll play nice and say at least the kids can go door to door this year. A little normalcy.

Well, some tried last year. No one was preventing them. We just didn’t have the Mardi Gras-level 4- hour long street party, most of them adults, packed in shoulder to shoulder.

Last year, the parents kept kids home. And few houses were handing out candy, so what was the point, for either the residents or the trick or treaters?

I sometimes have a hard time remembering what it was like in 2020, pre-vaccine.

ETA: Our street intersects with another that is jam-packed with restaurants, bars, and music venues. Lots and lots of drinking-age adults were partying away. We all worked to keep things chill for the kids, but this was not your normal neighborhood Halloween.

If I see any, I certainly will.

I’ll try to do a better job this year with videos, if there’s anything to video.
They're doing trick or treating Saturday here. Church is getting together for the sissy bowl (uga and uf), thankfully I have to work I'd make them all mad cause I want Georgia to lose🤣. They're having a fall festival at church Sunday evening, hate I'll miss that.

It’s been sad since the early part of this crap, at least the kids and adults relaxed a little, even though the parents were still cautious. It’ll probably be in stages that life gets back to normal and the Halloween that you remember on your street will still be a add on memory. As far as the adults partying away, I hope it’s was because of this Covid stress and not the because “I’m over 18 and I can do what ever the hell I want to do, regardless” crowd.

No, this was the pre-Covid Halloweens. We’re now on the second time of no official street party.

Sad/funny announcement for this year:
