Has anybody else read that Pelosi favors transferring responsibility for setting the debt ceiling to the Treasury (directed by an appointed rather than elected administrator)? This sounds like the familiar dem version of changing things when they are in power, and forgetting that in a "very long" short few years they are likely to be on the outside looking in again because of their own power hungry stupidity.

The thing the left always forgets is that economic breakdown is unpredictable. You might get left wing socialism like in Russia 1917/1918. But it is just as likely to give the result seen in 1920s Italy or 1930s Germany. You crash the economy and you unleash chaos. And you lose all control over where the chaos takes you. No sane person wants to play that particular gamble

Haven’t heard that but not shocked. Congress has one primary duty they and they alone are responsible for every year. Determining the country’s spending. That is the sole single must do every year. They aren’t technically required to pass a single piece of legislation. But they are required to submit a budget.

I’d guess they all honestly would like to abdicate this responsibility because they clearly all suck at it.
