Wow @ Gruden...another debacle had we hired him [update: Gruden resigns]

I love how everyone is just ignoring the fact that if you went through everyone's emails and texts in the NFL you might have a small handful of men left who don't deserve to get fired.

Gruden is being shown the door and "resigning" because he called Goodell a pussy, pointed out a coworkers enormous lips, and said f*****. This isn't actually that bad and never would have seen the light of day had someone not had an axe to grind.

Y'all are delusional and self important.

Wow. This is a horrible, horrible take.

He had 17 TFL’s and 10 sacks in the SEC as a senior and was a 7th round pick. It’s not like he was a second round pick or anything. If Sam wasn’t gay nobody would have thought “bad pick” for the 7th round.

I'm pretty sure no one would have cared about him at all if he wasn't gay. He was an undersized DE that ran a 4.9 forty and displayed poor strength for his position. Probably had a good motor. But he was still a long shot to get drafted before coming out.

I’m just saying that like based on his performance, even with bad combine numbers, we’re enough for him to at least get a look. And I don’t he even played, so overall he got a shot and it didn’t get preferential treatment.

He got a shot he didn’t deserve and it showed.

Oh man, I totally missed the point to where he said that “q*eers” shouldn’t be drafted. So not only did he say the f slur, he also said that gay people shouldn’t be drafted.

How anyone can defend this is lost on me.

He said they they shouldn’t be drafted for just being gay. Don’t they have an openly gay player on the team that is actually a pretty good player?

That is not what was said based on the reporting and even then he still used a term that was not appropriate to describe Michael Sam.

Statistics say he's nowhere near the first gay NFL player but I still don't care. It shouldn't be a factor in his getting hired. Period.

If he's good enough, who really gives a damn? I'm not in the room with ANY NFL stars while they have sex (hopefully, anyway) and I just.... it's just not something I think of when I see Brady or Henry or whomever working.

Wow. This is a horrible, horrible take.

It's...not though. If everyone was held to the same scrutiny in the NFL there would be A LOT of firings. I wonder how much has been said about women in the NFL that would be considered highly offensive and derogatory over the past 10 years? Maybe we should fire them all too.

Not only is what I said a good take, it's relevant and a good point. You're a half-wit if you can't acknowledge this. Quit saying people should get fired over something they said in emails they never thought would see the light of day. You are creating a stifling atmosphere that is impossible to uphold and adhere to yourself.

I can tell by the small-minded arguments that y'all are too entrenched in your shortsightedness. Too prideful to be wrong it seems. So this is where I bid you farewell.

I think Gruden got a raw deal. 10 years ago we all said something socially frowned upon I bet

1) It wasnt one thing.

2) He said multiple things over the course of multiple years.

3) He used a pretty significant slur in an email sent to an NFL executive’s work email address.

He didn’t get a raw deal. He got justifiably fired.
