Why Vols Beat Florida

Read in Leonard's Losers Voice...

("Foggy Mountain Breakdown" plays in the background)

Leonard Postoastie's here and, Mercy Percy, it looks like the lizards from Gainesville are licking their chops at the site of the mountain men from Knoxville venturing into the swamp this weekend.

The orange britches will surely have their work cut out for them as the Gators are looking for a rebound.

With a change in momentum late in the game, Josh Huepel's team takes a victory from the jaws of defeat.

Gators 27

Volunteers 28

Just play smart and tough and good things can happen against anyone.

Win the turnover battle. Maintain discipline. Act like grown men on the line of scrimmage.

We need something to turn this program around. Beating the gators in the swamp would do just that.

Go Vols!!!! Beat those the dirty gators into the mud!!!

I honestly believe we win today for one reason: we are due something unexpectedly positive.

In my opinion, the single most disappointing aspect of our 15 year run of misery is consistent underachievement and only rare occasions of overachievement. Some might say beating Auburn was such an example, but let’s be honest, JG got lucky lobbing up a couple jump balls that changed the game.

So today, I believe we will see our Vols step up and make the plays to win. We will see a coaching staff present a game plan that maximizes our talents and minimizes our deficiencies. We will finally see the good guys overachieve and shock the East.

Let’s do this. WGWTFA.
I've had a feeling about this game since the season started...I honestly think we got a realistic shot at beating them tonight and if and when we do you just know some of our fans will come on here with something to BITCH ABOUT!...GO VOLS!!

Yeah but if we beat them by at least 3 that means we also beat Alabama because they only beat them by 2. Pathetic.

With all due respect, this is an extremely simplistic analysis. Bama's home field advantage will be worth a field goal, so we've got to beat the Gators by at least 6 to be assured of beating the Tide.

Don't doubt that Heupel and staff has had this one front and foremost on their radar since he arrived. Perhaps he's got some trickery that Florida isn't ready for. And yes, it involves the passing game. (please don't overthrow...please don't overthrow..please don't overthrow.. please not have lobster hands and make the catch..please please please)

Have to hit the deep ball consistently. They will load the box and play close and dare us to throw deep. If we fail, they shut us down.

But if we succeed, we are up a few TDs before they can blink and it becomes a different game altogether.

The day will eventually come when a Vol squad will have the players who just will not accept losing and will do what it takes to make the plays. It will be the Al Wilson mindset. Who knows, perhaps that day is today?CBA52D9E-2F5D-4767-AFED-57B20D752DC0.jpeg

Sadly, the universe is indifferent to the plight of the VOLS. Also, curses are more powerful than hopium.

A Vol fan said to the universe:
“Sir, I exist!”
“However,” replied the universe,
“The fact has not created in me
A sense of obligation

With apologies to Stephen Crane.
