So serious question, do we actually have a SEC level QB on the roster?

You sound like 1vol8 making excuses for Maurer.

Bulletin: It’s not the coaches fault that Bailey didn’t win the job this year especially since he played a few games last year to get used to the “in game” atmosphere.

Did I say he should start? No. He's behind the bar on QB development at this point in his career given the 2020 season, and Heupel seems to have no interest in trying to develop him to his strengths, but that doesn't change the potential he had prior entering college.

If he goes to another school, he'll most likely realize at least some of that potential.

More than 2 games with his current coaches...or is that too much to ask?

Which would be a valid argument if he didn't still have the same issues that he's had since high school.

Not even Heupel is affecting major change to Milton's long-running passing issues during the season.

I am pro-Bailey and discouraged how things have turned out so far but I lean toward Bailey just not producing when he needed to this year to win the Qb job. I’m not going to make excuses for him. Bailey, if legit, controls his own fate just like my argument to 1vol8 last year about Maurer controlling his own fate. Bailey , like Maurer may simply be not as good as many of us had hoped for.
I really thought he might be the next Trevor Lawrence.

For all the jokes about how we have to be better simply because JG is no longer in Knoxville, we just aren’t. It’s painfully obvious why Milton was recruited by this staff. HB isn’t a good fit and HH isn’t a threat passing. Milton hasn’t done anything yet to show he is the answer. As bad as I hate to say it, we’re probably several years away from getting the QB solution in place which means several more years of mediocrity.

He's never going to win the QB position if he's asked to be a type of QB that he's not; plain and simple.

Like I said, he goes to a school where they run a system that's better suited for the type of QB that he actually is, then there's a chance for him to live up to that recruiting ranking.

JG averaged <1 TD/game while he was at UT. We are better without him.

Heupel has coached 3 Heisman trophy winning quarterbacks. Two #1 NFL draft picks. A Sammy Baugh award winner who is #3 in NCAA history in passing yards and #5 in td passes. The single season passing leader in school history at two schools. The all time SEC single season td pass leader.

Lebby was definitely Huepel's OC at UCF for two years. Lebby also spent the first 4 years of his coaching career with Heupel at Oklahoma. He's at Ole Miss because Kiffin got a big ole dose of the offense at FAU, UCF averaged 52ppg in the head to head meetings. He liked what he saw. Ole Miss was 4th in the nation in plays per game last year. They spread it wide and go fast, like Heupel.

It’s not the system that Heupel uses that is holding him back. He has to make quicker decisions regardless of the system he’s in. He could excel under Heupel if he was good enough.

Ok, I’ll give you that. But I’m still throwing things at the TV because of all the TDs we’re leaving on the field. Frustration level still feels about the same. 😩

He wouldn't start for another SEC team right now.

If he goes somewhere and gets into a system that better fits him, and gets some coaching he might start in 2 years. He's just too far behind at this point with missing spring last year, and being coached by morons after that; there's a reason he was third.
After seeing him make throws (lobs) to the perimeter I don’t think he starts in the P5

We'll have a couple of years to find out most likely.

Unfortunately, Heupel is not a D1 SEC qb HC/teacher like Kiffin or Mullen, but the entire team is at a loss for talent.
We will need to see if JH can develop Milton in the background for later on down the line.

You guys are right back on top offensively, with a mean defense. Got to be moving up in the polls.

FWIW:
If you're watching Aurbun vs Penn St, it's the worst ref hack job of all time. Those refs are clueless.
What!?!?

Per one of the post game radio shows, Bailey was 4th on the depth chart before Maurer transferred. He was apparently just wholly unimpressive in any facet of the game during camp. They said the coaches weren't ready to write him off yet and still hoped he would be a factor in the QB room in the future.
