Harrison Bailey (merged)

Coaches are much like officials - they like to imply that they never make mistakes. That's why the quarterback whisperer at Florida had Kyle Trask watching sitting on the bench and why there is a quarterback debate today at Florida.
Other than Spurrier - people are very reluctant to bench their "chosen" starting qb's.

He was 6 for 6 and 85 yards against A&M in garbage time, Padding stats. All of our QB's have room for improvement as no one that has played has shined. Hopefully, when his name is called, he can go out and get it done.
So, he connected with his receivers? I’ll take that all day long over what we’ve see so far this year.

L's all over the place though...isnt that the argument use to run down other qbs because they are the only ones in the field that matter. Right?

No other QB has produced a winning SEC record besides Dobbs (5-3 once) and Guarantano (5-3 once) in the last 15 years!!! Yes, W's are all that matters. But, Bailey MAY be the ONE that can lead the team to W's against some good teams. Unfortunately, it is looking like this fanbase MAY NEVER know due to him NEVER GETTING A SHOT to PROVE ALL OF US RIGHT OR WRONG!!!

Only decent game he has was Vandy..he was pulled in every other game for fumbles and sacks... i mean he averaged sack every 6 pass attempts, and a.fumbled every 3.6 sacks...

Well, Will Friend wasn't his FRIEND was he? The offensive scheme wasn't creative either. Pruitt handcuffed Chaney!!!! You can't blame that all on Bailey!!! How many times did JG get sacked and fumble? How many times have Milton and Hooker already been sacked and fumbled? Your BIAS IS OBVIOUS. A lot or most on this board just want to see Bailey in this NEW SYSTEM with a NEW OL to SEE WHAT HE CAN OR CAN'T DO. I guarantee you Bailey wouldn't do worse than Milton!!! He would complete LONG PASSES and OPEN UP THE RUN GAME due to the D not stacking the box. You wait until you see Milton or Hooker against a STOUT SEC D. It is going to be UGLY when THE DC KNOWS A LONG PASS ISN'T POSSIBLE!!!!! To be fair, the jury is still out on Hooker completing DEEP BALLS. But, Milton has shown so far that he can't hit the BROAD SIDE OF A BARN when passing more than 15 yards through the air!!!!!

Last year SEC defense knew Bailey doesn't throw deep...his actual comp% on throws of 20+ yards was 30 ish %....that whe he checked down and threw short...his avg depth of target was 6 yards...he didnt take chances..and whe he tried to go deep he led the ball so long he got sacked...11 sack in 6 games playing part time.....My bias is HB isnt the savior....he is a west coast short pass 90s QB...18.5 ppg in his games....IDK if Milton or Hooker are, but Im willing to see them in an SEC game before passing judgement...JM made adjustments more air from week 1 to 2...who know what can happen next...I do know the report fall anf spring were HB still holding yhe ball to long....

You keep saying this same old tired Bs. Yes he held the ball to long as a true freshman qb. Milton is no better. He sucked at Michigan and he sucks here. Sometimes it makes sense to put effort into the young guy. Milton didnt win games at Michigan he wont do any better here. He focuses more on talking sh1t than actually playing the game. We got a short field on a punt block and hes flexing on a lb at the goal line on the score. What kinda sh1t is that ? We all know Superman, and his best impression of Scam man Newton. Truth be told he could have been flagged for taunting against Pitt. Very surprised they didnt.

HB was pointed out several times as holding the ba to long in spring and fall....while no coach is in fallible for give me for trusting a coach that has developed numerous NFL QBs and hiesman candidates over a star gazing bioplar fan base....you could last season he didnt take chances..again me 50% comp and 36 ppg over 70% and 18.5 ppg

There is a huge difference, your comparing this year to last. Avg his points per game from Michigan in 6 games he played and id say its not nearly as cut and dry. We havent seen Bailey this year. And the points Milton has been responsible for this season do not average 36 a game

Milton led 3 scoring drives against Pitt. 1 on the 2 yard line resulting in the only td and 2 field goals. If your gonna talk about it at least be accurate.

He did get a shot in spring and fall camp but didn't win the job. He didn't even win the 2nd string job.

Bailey is not ready yet or he would be out there on the field during game time
I guess AK wasn’t ready until Hurd got his last concussion at UT, and AK was forced in right? Because it’s always true that coaches put the best players on the field, they don’t get it wrong, ever

Lol, leading a scoring drive with: one play starting at the 2 yard line, a hand off at that

The only way this argument on this will be settled is if they all play. Hooker imo is #1. Milton's play thus far is not deserving, throw in the look at me antics and I personally would not play him. If he continues to muster a whopping 120 a game in the air we aren't winning. Let's also not forget Miltons strip sack and turning the ball over two weeks ago as well. If hes gonna act like a superstar, he should be able to handle critics as well. Lets be honest about everything no one has set the world on fire and we lost a game we could have won. We left points on the field and one guy is known for doing just that. He is what he is.

Some posters are so afraid of Bailey getting any playing time...They are ridiculous.
This! Because it goes against the brainwashing that the chosen representative(insert category) knows best and makes the right decisions. In this case it’s JH, and UT football. But it applies to everything else. It’s a way for people to feel comfortable and know they don’t have to think for themselves. It also creates people blind to glaring issues. Funny looking back on it VolNation in masses were adamant that BJ and JP weren’t the problem, even at the end. Everyone here thought we should just be happy with the result, and we shouldn’t move on. It’s only afterwards that you see people acting like they were on board with it, while many of us were bashed for calling out the repeated mistakes

Whats Milton's completion % of throws over 20 yards rn ? Have you actually looked at how many times Milton has been sacked this year ? How about how many times he was sacked last year? He was sacked a good amount of times. He holds the ball to long as well as anybody. 1 was a true freshman the other was a 3rd year guy.

You are CLUELESS! Yeah, Milton made adjustments through the air from week one to week two. HE MISSED MORE WIDE OPEN WRs in WEEK TWO!!! A lot of middle school players could have completed a lot of those throws that JM missed assuming the middle school players had the arm strength to complete those passes!!!

You can't educate the uneducated BigAl!!! Good try though!!!!! I am with you!!! Until Bailey is given a half game or more to prove the believers wrong. A lot or most on this board will want to see WHAT BAILEY CAN OR CAN'T DO!!!! The jury is still out on Hooker too. I think we have seen enough of JM to know HE ISN'T THE ANSWER VS STOUT SEC D'S!!!!!

seems to me a lot of time has been wasted on milton..i like our scheme and think it could be successful w/ the right q.b..1 of 10 passing on longer than 20 yards is not the guy..next man up please.
