Still haven’t done the Hanging Rock trail, but Moore’s Knob is the highest peak of the Sauratown Mountains. I’m definitely going to check out Stone Mountain next week while I’m off and likely finally check out Pilot Mountain

Hanging Rock peak is awesome. They have an observation deck on the peak that offers a 360 degree view with maps of everything you can see. Beautiful views.

Hanging Rock is my favorite NC state park. There is not much hiking at Pilot Mtn.

Stone Mtn. Has tons of trails. You'll enjoy it.

I love it because there are trails with so many different mountain views - getting to see Pilot Mountain in the distance is cool. Then quite a few waterfalls.

Stone Mountain is definitely great for views as well, but it gets more crowded than Hanging Rock, since there is really only one main loop trail. If you go off on the side trails you'll have them on your own.
