Slot crossing route. LB jumps it, misses. Connects, and with yards after catch we get an 18 yd gain...and Tennessee's new era is off to the races.

Short pass to Javonta Payton
Who breaks it for 65 yards and a TD.

It's a sign of the New Tennessee.

We'll stack two or three receivers to the short side and throw a quick out to test the tackling capacity of those corners and get the defense to think about defending the whole field.

Then Milton will run the ball on second down.

Third down and short: play action will get us 6.

Just for fun, I looked up the first play for Heupel since 2016:

2016: Mizz @ WVU Short Pass to RB on left sideline, loss of 2yds
2017: Mizzou vs. Missouri State Short Seam Route Pass 10 yds right side, 65 yd TD
2018: UCF vs UCONN Short Pass left sideline, 7 yd gain
2019: UCF vs FAMU End around (WR) 32 yd gain
2020: UCF vs GT Short Pass right sideline, No gain

So CJH has gone short pass on first play 4/5 times and did an end around once. Look at the pass patterns, all short and then L-R-L-R-? There is a code within here someplace, if I can only decipher it....... I'm guessing a short pass to the left side of around 5-10 yards, Finkle is Einhorn, Einhorn is Finkle!!

I'd guess those pass plays were likely designed to go to the strong or weak side, so the hash mark the ball got spotted on determined the direction of the play. This offense spreads to make people go man on man so a lot of plays are establishing the width of the field by throwing to the boundaries.

Love to see a play action for a deep bomb with a touchdown. Good way to start off the Heupel area. I just hope we don’t hold back and explode on offense to send a message that Heupel has the offense clicking.

Come on man, you're not reading my cyphers right!

RPO RB dive right between Spraggins & Mays. 7 yard gain.

Finkel, I mean Heupel doesn't run on first play ever man, that's what I've been trying to tell you guys :)))

Play Action roll to the right hitting the slot guy or tight end underneath or the wideout on a comeback route. Easy, Rhythm throw, hurry up to the line on 2&2 dive play for 5, 1st & 10 PA Down field shot….

Play action. Slot man runs a deep out. Hyatt takes the corner for a ride on the post and Milton throws deep down the middle where only Hyatt can get it for a walk-in 6.

Quick Kick from the QB. Pins the opponent deep. First defensive play is a safety. Tennessee holds on to win 2-0. Oddly they win every game by 2. They win the National Title 4-2 over Oklahoma. A new SEC Rivalry is born. Tennessee and Oklahoma combine to win the next 5 National titles. Tennessee gets 4 and the Sooners 1.

You heard it here first.
