Its almost like we can no longer have a country with each other.I think it is going to take somebody trying to enforce the law, maybe several different types of lawsuits, to dispense with all the issues in this law.
Hopefully the culture war BS doesn’t take over but I could absolutely see blue states taking this ruling as an invitation to pull the same **** with guns or vaccines.
Danke Joe. The federal government has stepped in before to stop private parties from violating constitutional rights. That time it was the KKK. So Texas is keeping good company.
If it is before a certain point in development then no, it can’t be saved. Not sure if a fetus as opposed to an embryo etc, is before that. Just making a point the gestation period is at play. Before a certain point, it is absolutely a part of the female body and can’t be separated.
And a person in a permanent vegetative state is a life, still. I always contend it’s personhood. Admittedly, I don’t know when that line is. Probably higher brain function and response to stimuli would fit the definition, but I don’t really know.
Wrong thread crazy cat lady. Texas has exactly the gun laws they want. Well… not anymore. Since the government is giving away full automatic weapons I’d guess we want that now too.Man, Texas is crushing it. Batsh*t crazy abortion law. Allowing any Tom, Dick or Harry to open carry. Suppressing the right to vote. They must have the Tennessee legislature drooling.
New Texas law allowing people to carry handguns without permits stirs mix of fear, concern among law enforcement
The federal government already gave their ruling on the matter. SCOTUS says it stands for now.
I’m just glad we have an admin in place again that respects the judicial branches authority I sleep better at night due to it for sure.same for the eviction moratorium where they actually ruled against it yet the AG is defying the ruling - member how we were told Bill Barr was dangerous; how about the AG ignoring a SCOTUS ruling that just came down? Oh, I forgot, all that matters is the "why" not the actual action.
