Coronavirus (No politics)

I just saw another Facebook post in a health group I'm in. A woman just lost her husband to covid.

I don't care what your opinion of this virus is. Your politics mean jack to me. Your feelings on the vaccine and masks and social distancing are completely irrelevant.

I just want to mourn the loss of another life.

I’d like to ask all of you that will to pray for my oldest brother. He’s got Covid and they’ve had to take him to the ER. He’s having trouble breathing. He’s 56
Niswonger just released had largest single day inpatient for Covid, since 2019. 4 of them are in the ICU. My good friends wife is an Peds ER Doc there. Pray for them all.

Please, all ego, politics aside. Please if you havent gotten vaccinated, please do so. Friend of mine lost a family member last week. One brother was vaccinated, just got sick. Other, not vaxxed went on vent and was gone in 3 days. Completely avoidable.

That's the problem. People won't put politics aside. It's why Covid will be here at this level for a very long time

Prayers sent my man. Has he been vaccinated? If so he may stand a better chance of fighting this thing. Hope he has a quick recovery.

He has not been vaccinated. I agree with you on being able to fight it off better. I don’t think he’s had the virus yet, and I think that’s why he’s struggling. I appreciate you man. Thanks

A really well respected deputy fire chief in my old hometown died from COVID last week at 53. Extremely healthy/fit guy.

My cousin's mother in law that's 49 has somehow been able to regain consciousness and can communicate (non-verbal due to lung damage). They had begun talking to the family about signing a DNR because her heart would stop every time they flipped her over, but somehow she stabilized and is all there mentally despite having a stroke. It's a miracle she has made it, but she still has a long road ahead and will likely need a lung transplant.

As I mentioned before, my mother is an executive for a healthcare system that covers multiple hospitals, urgent care facilities, and many other providers. They are overwhelmed and operating well over capacity. They have beds in the hallways and even clearing offices in order to make space for more beds. ICU is full.

If you chose to not get vaccinated, fine. But please don't spread anti-vaccine misinformation into the pool of info online that people use (right or wrong) to make their decision on getting vaccinated. Enough people are learning the hard way and living with the regret of a loved one dying after refusing to get vaccinated...or worse yet, dying from COVID and wishing they had been vaccinated. On top of that, you can rest assured that others will suffer from having a major medical issue and their local hospitals not being able to provide space for them due to COVID overload. If your local hospital isn't having this issue...great. Keep yourself healthy so you don't contribute to putting them in a bind.

One more point. Our local school system had a high of 315 students with COVID back in January. A new record high was set each day last week...climbing by over 100 per day. Do what you can to keep your kids safe.

Agree. Let's please just make this a public health issue. There are no guarantees, but I think it's well demonstrated that the vaccine helps you get through it after you get it.

And please. Don't forsake your God. Lotta hatred and vitriol out there. Never waver. Pray for your medical providers and those afflicted. Very concerning. This thing is legit.

My wife is an NP at a couple of the local ER’s. Numbers are rising drastically. How serious? Idk.

gld you got it man! Really, glad to hear.
Always planned on it, but I got COVID 10 days after my first shot in March and had to wait for medical reasons. Have to have a third one next month. Eventually everyone will, but because I'm immunosuppressed, they recommend I do it now.

My sister, wife, Morher in Law, and wife's cousin all are. Bronchteichtasis, Diabetes, RA.

I would have thought youd have been first in line? For sure you shoukd be first for booster?

No longer running a fever after shot #2, but my arm is still sore.
Glad you got it. With your health issues I know it had to be a relief that it’s done with. Did your mom get it? It suxed on both of my shots because of already having Covid and that’s what they told me would happen, but it’s done with.

Once I caught COVID, I had to wait a certain amount of time before it was safe to get the second shot. That time limit ran into another medical procedure that meant waiting a little bit longer because of potential drug interactions. So that's why it took so long to get the second. I'm already scheduled for my booster.

Yeah, my mom has had COVID, and has also now been vaccinated. She had COVID around the same time I did.

I'm getting my 2nd dose next Sunday. I had the Pfizer. My wife and I have a bet going that I call in Sick Monday. She's had both doses of Moderna, and a had a few rough days after her 2nd shot
My second Moderna was last Thursday. I ran a fever and felt rough. Feeling better today, but like I said, my arm is still sore.
