This is what I gathered.
I disagree. If you aren't vaccinated you ARE part of the problem. Even if you have a reasonable excuse, you are still part of the problem whether you like it or not.
Not sure how any of those can be isolated to "conservative" other than the unvaccinated illegals pouring into this country. The vaccine is working, I'm pretty sure the companies knew there would be break through infections and to say that vaccinated people are dying, while true, is cherry picking at it's finest. Telling people not to judge others is neither side of the aisle. I didn't see any of his commentary as political, but I am sick to death of this being a political football so I see comments as they are posted and not what they are supposed to mean from the right or left.@VolunteerHillbilly wasn't calling for a lockdown - he said that's the only way to eradicate the virus. He is conservative and he was hitting many of the right wing talking points such as saying the vaccine isn't working as intended, bringing up the deaths of vaccinated people, blaming foreigners, bringing up illegal immigration and blaming Mexicans, and telling vaccinated people not to judge the unvaccinated. The purpose of his post wasn't to call for a lockdown but to set forth his conservative talking points.

Funny thing about all of this is that in the beginning @VolNExile and I were at odds about what was going on. Now, she and I are in lockstep pretty much. I don't want to see another lockdown and I'm pretty sure she doesn't either. We both are vaxers and maskers. The freaking solution is there if people will just do it.To this point, I agree. Most of the excuses by the anti-vaxxers are straw man arguments to cover up the fact they distrust government or they've been brainwashed by political misinformation on social media.
A common excuse is "I don't know the long term effects." Sounds completely reasonable however if you ask the follow up "You know they switch up the flu vaccine annually, are you concerned about the long term effects with a change there?" A very small number will point out the differences in a mRNA based vaccine and one that uses inactivated viruses. (While I disagree, I can at least respect that you have done some independent research) A majority will repeat a Facebook or Newsmax talking point. That's when you know you are dealing with a straw man argument from someone who has been politically brainwashed.
Since anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers like to refer to Facebook, I might as well too. I saw one this morning, purportedly by an ICU RN who was treating a young (adult) Covid patient. RN: So why didn’t you get vaccinated? Patient: We don’t know what’s in the vaccine! RN: I just injected 5 different meds into your IV line, and you didn’t ask me about a single one.To this point, I agree. It's not "left" anymore Exie, I am far from left and I wear a mask pretty religiously. I don't know what to call it, I am going to begin listing myself as apolitical. I don't want to die or get incredibly sick and I don't want any of those I care about to do the same.Since anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers like to refer to Facebook, I might as well too. Who knows if that actually happened (they’re supposed to tell you what they’re giving you as they administer), but why is it that we’re willing to trust medical professionals to heal us, but we don’t trust them when they recommend to get vaccinated? Somehow people on the “left”, whatever that means any more, get called sheeple, but I sure see a herd mentality among those who follow the guidance of some pretty suspect shepherds.
Fox News requires employees to have a “vaccine passport” to avoid repeated testing and mandates mask use in enclosed spaces, and yet…
I think I’m going to identify as “cynical.”It's not "left" anymore Exie, I am far from left and I wear a mask pretty religiously.
