Toyota has a great leasing program.Lease vs. Buy discussion again… sorry guys…
So, I totally get having equity at the end of it. All of my rational thinking loves that.
My situation is I am trying to get my family into a home ASAP. We had no place to go to when we arrived unexpectedly from TH so it’s been hard the last two years.
A lease theoretically allows me to save more over the next three years to advance my home savings fund, essentially kicking the can down the road a bit. Once we are more financially stable, it will be better to purchase.
Someone help my logic there
For context, I’m looking at a Prius Prime,
$159 mo x 36 mo
15,000 annual miles
$2,999 at signing
Would my never lease posters still advise the same way?
Thanks guys. I know Jesus and fat loss… not finances
Think of leasing as renting. There is a lease insurance, lease for a couple of years and then get another new vehicle. I work in the fed govt. and I know a few guys that lease because they are never in a place longer then 2-3 years. Those guys love to lease vehicles. I have never personally leased, only bought.Lease vs. Buy discussion again… sorry guys…

Whatever you feel like is best, do it. But be honest with yourself and above all pray about it.Lease vs. Buy discussion again… sorry guys…

Probably the best way to explain Huepel’s offense right here. For those that don’t think it will work. If the Offense has momentum it is going to be hard to stop.
Good perspectives in this, thanksI was told my whole life a lease was a rip-off. When I got through college though and realized how leasing works I changed my mind a bit. A lease is just a loan with an option to purchase the car at the end of the lease. So what matters financially is what's the interest rate embedded in the lease and how fast you're paying off the car. This interest rate is used to calculate the price you purchase the car at at the end of the lease. If the rate is low then a lease can be a good deal, especially if you purchase the car at the end of the lease.
The negatives of a lease are:
Leases are almost always for a new car and new cars are generally worse deals than used cars
The embedded interest rate might be higher than a loan would be for a purchase
Leases tend to build equity more slowly than purchases with lower payments which effectively means you're paying more interest over time and when you go to purchase the car at the end you'll need to get a loan then.
If the rate is good, you're going to buy a new car anyway, and you don't use leases as an excuse to buy a crazy expensive car then leases can be okay. Buying a used car that is 2 or 3 years old is probably better but for new cars they can be comparable.
Might want to check into an s corp, LLC, or other personal company. You may be able to write the car expenses off. That could help some.Lease vs. Buy discussion again… sorry guys…

If $2999 at signing is all you have to pay along with the monthly fee it’s not bad at all. when you add everything up you would spend $8723.00 over a 3 year period. That breaks down to an average cost of $243.00 per month. Even a used car purchase would cost that much or more. It’s not a bad option if there are no other fees and you keep it under 15000 miles. You dont have to worry about servicing anything except oil changes and tire rotations. You will give the vehicle back before you need the transmission service, coolant flush etc. There is also a good chance you wouldn’t even have to buy tires for it. I would ask questions about returning the vehicle. Are the going to take it back in good condition or are the going to try to tack on fees for a small scratch or ding. Most places aren’t bad, especially if you continue to do business with them.Lease vs. Buy discussion again… sorry guys…

They would have absolutely destroyed LSU in that game if Mack didn't suck at hitting wide open receivers, and in his defense the receivers hadn't dropped several passes that were catchable when they were open.Good stuff. I'll add this...still remember reading this years ago and thinking, "man it must be great to have an innovative, offensive genius at the helm...now we got em
How close to greatness is UCF’s spread-iso offense?
Thanks all
I’m eyeing a Hybrid Corolla at near the same price as the Prius. It’s a better car but all counts.
There is also a local deal for a new Hyundai Elantra gas only car, 0% APR, 0 down, $21,000 60 mo for $339 per month.
Thoughts between the two options, given my situation?
'Omaha! Omaha!' How Peyton Manning changed quarterbacking forever
Kinda slow in here this morning, here’s a good read on the![]()

We are nearing a decision on our future as missionaries but at this point, everything is leading me to believe that that season is ending, at least temporarily. I’ve wrestled and fought with it for two years but finally have a peace about letting it go although I still have dreams of new ministry expressions in Thailand.I’m not familiar with leases and not sure if there’s a penalty for breaking them. Since you’re looking to buy a home, I guess you don’t see a return overseas on the horizon, but if you think you might be back in the field before the lease is up (3 yrs), you may have an additional expense of breaking the lease early. Probably not enough to influence your decision but something to consider.
Thanks all

Sometimes God leads you to places you don't necessarily want to be. Just gotta have faith there's a reason He wants you there. We are nearing a decision on our future as missionaries but at this point, everything is leading me to believe that that season is ending, at least temporarily. One of my buds drives a Prius, well over 250K. Toyota has the friggin' electric motor on lockdown. Thanks all
