Tight end Princeton Fant was back at practice today, going through individual drills for the first time this week.
Kamal Hadden continued to work to the side with trainers and was joined by Velus Jones today. Kaemen Marley was also a part of the club, but later left to take part I drills with teammates.

Rodney Garner was very demonstrative today, encouraging the team to bring their best efforts. He made guys repeat a rep on several occasions.

With the quarterbacks, there didn’t appear to be any clear pecking order while we were out there. During a red zone period with receivers, there were some over throws, bad timing and unorganized groupings.

Offensively, receivers coach Kodi Burns was harping on guys being too soft in their release on the line of scrimmage as they worked on physicality drill with his unit. For the tight ends it was about being physical in the run game.

As for the quarterbacks on Thursday, Joey Halzle spoke about the quarterbacks needing to have escapability and to handle chaos. The quarterbacks did a drill today where they worked on different arm angles and throwing on the run in chaos settings meaning it wasn’t a designed roll out.

We did get to see a routes vs. air redzone period today and it was rough. Some drops, some poor timing, some poor throws. Just wasn’t a very good period. There will be plenty to correct from that.

The order of Tennessee's quarterbacks (which might matter and might not) through routes-on-air on Friday went Joe Milton III, Hendon Hooker, Brian Maurer and Harrison Bailey.

Friday's routes-on-air period shifted toward the end zone with some goal-line work, and it wasn't the crispest session with a couple drops, some errant throws and just overall sloppiness. Milton and Bailey probably were the most accurate, but that is relatively speaking. Hooker threw high over his intended target a couple of times but all the quarterbacks were less accurate on throws toward the sideline and the corner of the end zone than over the middle.

Jalin Hyatt had a bad drop and had to do some push-ups as penance.

One of Tennessee's key offensive players was limited early in Friday's practice as wide receiver Velus Jones Jr. did not go through any drills.

Freshman tight end Trinity Bell (knee) also has yet to resume practicing.

There was good news on the injury/availability front as tight end Princeton Fant went through drills normally on Friday morning.

The order looked the same on the offensive line, which split into guards/centers and tackles for much of their individual work. The first three interior guys up were Jerome Carvin, Cooper Mays and Javontez Spraggins, followed by Jackson Lampley, Parker Ball and Kingston Harris.

I like that everyone on the team has a black stripe.

Milton's got zip on the ball.

Did anyone catch a pass from Milton in the first video?

Love the early practices. These guys have the entire day to rest, get nutrition right, go to class, with minimal interruption. This is underrated in athletics.
Class hasn't started yet, I think that's the only reason they practice early.
