Sounds like the SEC wont be rescheduling games if your team has a Covid issue.
COVID forfeits on table for SEC as vax totals lag
To be fair, you kept saying last year that the season wasn't even going to happenI wonder how many games covid will cancel this year? This virus isn't going anywhere as long as the media has anything to say about it. Manufactured fear sells
Anyone goes to Florida without having covid immunity or fully vaccinated is taking their life in their hands.
6 people got it at the job I am on including myself.
I had 1 vaccine and was getting my second when I got infected. 1 person I know of was very close to a ventilator. He is out but will be on oxygen for a couple months if not the rest of his life.
One person? Not an issue. Even last year's guidelines were quite flexible. Iirc you only needed 53 players and a pretty minimum amount at each position.Doubt situation comes up, but wonder what SEC would do if team was 100% vaccinated but tested had someone test positive? Actually, I think I know what would happen...
Only because we put up with it. The coward fear mongers run the world now because we let them take over. That is my issue. The MLB just cancelled the Red Sox vs. Yankees game the other day because of positive COVID-19 tests, but some of the players who tested positive were vaccinated AND asymptomatic. Unfortunately, this seems to be something we are going to continue doing.
ControlHow many college athletes have died or even had severe reactions to covid? I'm going to go out on a limb and say the number is very close to if not completely zero. Their bodies are in fantastic shape and if they get covid they are likely to be asymptomatic. Jut stop testing them for game purposes. Everyone that wants the vaccine can get it now, so what is the purpose of continuing this policy.
Did you actually click on the linked article? Travis tweeted out the correction hours before you posted this.
So, 60% are from unvaccinated. It didn’t really delve into the other 40%. Appreciate the correction. I do think 99’s point still stands that there is an unusually high number of people becoming infected in spite of having been vaccinated. Most notably the NC State players at the college World Series recently.
Exactly. And then there’s this:
I wonder how Sankey would handle a bunch of vaccinated players testing positive?
The vaccine introduces your immune system to a strain of the virus so your body can better fight it, not prevent you from contracting it. Without getting too political, either side can easily skew arguments in their favor by focusing on certain statistics. I’m just glad the nationwide wide infection rate has dramatically decreased in the past 4-6 months and know it didn’t happen by accident. So, 60% are from unvaccinated.
