Im not following this one, the guy has been around forever. Atlanta has a young core that isnt going to be too expensive any time soon. The window is open now. Most likey in 4 years or so Atlanta is going to pay Fried, Anderson, Ynoa etc.... what theyre going to get on the open market so pay Fred now and shoot your best shot. Not to go Moneyball here, but if he's not willing to talk hometown discount, it's probably pointless.
Don’t get too excited but We’ve got Johan and Pablo to choose from!!!!!!Im not following this one, the guy has been around forever. Also, if he goes who's playing first Riley? Then who's playing 3rd?
And if truth be told, that's got to be what is happening. He's likely in the 5/6 150+ range and both sides are just playing it close to the vest trying to figure out what the market is.If he wants anything more than ~4/5 $100-$125M then that’s a him problem
The point is that the back end of the contract is going to be some level of ugly for just about everybody and for $30 million a year you can figure out a lot of things. He's great and I want him in ATL, but he's not the only solution on earth. Freddie needs the team plays .600+ baseball or the tough decision might get easier.Im not following this one, the guy has been around forever. Im not arguing that at all. He could easily look like Pujols in a few years you never know. My main point though is Atlanta is never going to be the Yankees Dodgers etc that spend big money and have a window every year. So if youre heading into a rebuild anyways does the back end really hurt? The point is that the back end of the contract is going to be some level of ugly for just about everybody and for $30 million a year you can figure out a lot of things.
