Started with leaked audio of Rachel Nichols saying Maria Taylor got an assignment over her only because Taylor is black. Not sure how it's evolved since then.

Yup, they make said salaries only because people pay for them/it in some way. Reflection of the culture, I'd say. We love sports...a lot. So everyone involved is eating from a huge pie.

It's like people bemoaning all the money in CFB...it's only there because of the public. We all want to watch our teams on Saturday...every game. We're all willing to pay for it. Sidenote: SCOTUS was involved there too opening that can up more.

I’m aware that her contract ends right after the potential game 6. That’s in every story. There’s nothing left to “leak”. Her producer friend released the Nichols phone call. ESPN has effectively distanced from Nichols. All these sniping comments are over her contract extension and how she wants to at least match Smith. I’m on record stating your last sentence. Let it burn, I say.

Maria Taylor is not a personality, she's a reporter/host/conversation facilitator. Getting personality money would be insane for what she does, unless they plan to change her role. I think she's trying to capitalize on the whole scandal more than get paid what she deserves.
