The point guards primary job is to run the offense and control the tempo of the game, not to score.

All of the great Florida championship teams had great point guard play too OhioVol. Most of those guys were good for 10 each game. I am not saying he needs to score 20, but scoring 8-10 a game running the point is pretty common in college basketball.
