Anyone that thought Pruitt was anything but a total failure at every aspect of coaching loses any credibility with me when it comes to judging coaches. The guy couldn't manage, he couldn't coach, and he couldn't even cheat, although I don't blame him for the cheating part because that's the norm at his previous stops. At Bama, GA, and FSU is the norm, and out in the open. Unfortunately everyone can't get away with it. There are definitely two sets of rules.

As to his coaching, his past success is all smoke and mirrors. He's really accomplished nothing. He's never been a "guru". He will never be a "guru". His reputation was built on players he purchased.

All of this.

It was even worse here. It even escapes common sense why he was so bad. I'm not a tinfoil hat guy by any means, but it was so bad and so mismanaged and so blatant with the cheating and what not, you have to wonder if the Bammer from Sand Mountain Alabama came in to tank the program even further and take Fulmer with him. Or at the very least, didn't care one iota if he did.

The Tennessee and Fulmer hate is very real in deep Bama country.

I was totally fooled. I thought he was the real deal and we got super lucky getting him.

I looked past all the red flags.

I won’t do that again.

I was 100% wrong. He was nothing but awful in every aspect.

During our successful years..... we cheated like crazy.

I did too...... I thought he was the next stud coach before I even thought we had a chance to get him.

The Jordan era was a different league physically. Jordan himself struggled with it his first few years. Detroit and Boston didn't even consider the bulls a threat. Jordan also lost playoff series too. I am one of the biggest Jordan fans but I can be honest that Lebron would be more physical in that era because that is how basketball was played then. I believe some of the hate on Lebron is not because of his style of play but because he expresses himself and some people don't like his viewpoints.

I'm not going there on which was greater, Tiger at the Masters or Phil at the PGA. Tremendous moments in golf history that I will always remember. Add them to Jack winning the Masters at 46 and you have a trifecta. All 3 overcame obstacles the normal human would not.

Tiger did change his swing and had numerous health related issues to overcome. He won that Masters by being smarter than the young guns and playing to his strengths. He let the others self destruct and was the last man standing. His will to win is unmatched until he undercuts himself as a human being. Tiger is the only one who stops Tiger.

But so did Phil. Phil has remade his body and swing as well while struggling with a serious psoriatic arthritis illness that can mess up the joints, particularly of the hands and feet with pain and swelling. Which is why he had tailed off so much despite the talent. After taking a more holistic approach to health, he finally got his mind right late in his career, which is why he lost in the past when he should not have. He actually did it Tiger's way. Played smart to his strengths and let everybody else make the mistakes. He now gets 5 more years to play at that level through age 56. Will see what happens - hope he adds to his win total. He went to a level mentally I have never seen him go and he can still bomb it at nearly 51.

The common denominator in both wins - Brooks Koepka made mistakes he should not have. It's Brooks' turn to learn the lessons if he wants to reach the heights of Tiger and Phil. He has the game to be able to do it. The question will be his surgically repaired knees. He will have to adapt to the reality. Trashing a guy playing on a recently repaired knee that he cannot fully flex is a bit ridiculous as a few have done. It might be good to note that both Tiger and Phil think Brooks is one who could join their elite status. The have great respect for him.
Koepka could have won the tournament if he had laid up on the par 5s and just taken pars, but it's not in his nature. Watching all of his bad shots on the back nine it looked like he was unable to make a proper body turn because of his knee. Golf is hard enough when you're healthy.

More than likely you are right. But I still think Bama is on another level and untouchable. Pruitt brought the Saban model here and while a big component was turning ourselves in to not pay his buyout - I really believe Pruitt was dumbfounded we wouldn't go as far and as blatantly as they do in Tuscaloosa and figured that was holding him back.

It goes beyond his viewpoints...... everything he does is annoying.......I hate Jordan and lebron but I respect Jordan way more than I do lebron.

If you set up a support system...... the school..... city.... and police all look after the football program then it works great...... Alabama has that and we do not.

The man hasn't done anything but play ball. He has never gotten in trouble. I don't understand what he has done that annoys you.

no its definitely his style of play. He's 6'9 and 250 and built like a brick but he plays soft at times and complains constantly. He has all the intangibles to be better than Jordan but his attitude, drive, and character are clearly obstacles that keep it out of reach. When he 1st came on the scene He played tough and made no excuses and fought for everything. If he played like that all of his career I have no doubt in my mind we'd be calling Lebron the GOAT but he didn't. He changed and his style of play was affected. Jordan wouldn't have let the Mavs do to the Heat what happened. Lebron gave up and threw in the towel as soon as adversity struck. Jordan would've thrived in that scene. That's the big difference between Jordan and Lebron.

Can't stand the man. Couldn't stand him for his final two years here. Liked Butch and Dooley x100 more.

Probably wouldn't go as far to say he is all smoke and mirrors. That description is reserved for his good buddy and insurance salesman Niedermeyer. He couldn't manage players. He couldn't even manage his own staff. If he got one on one with a player I don't have any doubt he could teach them for hours on correct hand placement. That just isn't the job though. And the fact that Phil and company couldn't discover that through the interview process is shameful.

But did we in the 90's? Did the school, city, and police all change that much in the span of a decade when we started collapsing?

Call it less worried about getting caught, less integrity, less ethics...whatever - Bama takes it to a level not a lot of schools are willing to go.

You do realize Jordan lost playoff series as well. People tend to forget those loses. Also no one plays physical in the NBA anymore. The league changed the style of play. Lebron is able to drive the ball at will to the hoop. He also gets his teammates involved in the game. Lebron's game is not comparable to Jordan's game. People compare the two but Lebron is more like Magic than Jordan. Kobe is the closest style to Jordan.

Yes we did but it wasn’t bc of them..... it was bc of Doug dickey...... he ruled everything..... when he left...... it all fell apart.

Because he said accoutability..... so what. Everyone has an opinion right or wrong that is the world we live in.

He said "you're next" and posted a man's picture to his millions of followers after he did an incredible job of saving a girl's life. Then he refused to apologize and doubled down. I defend Lebron in the basketball debate, but that situation wasn't a matter of opinion. He was blatantly in the wrong.

It's crazy to me people believe this stuff.

Bama players out on the town terrorizing the townsfolk. All covered up by the police, NSA, and FBI.

OR

Success on the field breeds discipline. Discipline keeps you out of trouble. Winning on the field keeps the players out of trouble more often off the field.

The idea that "Winning = more thugs = more trouble" so the police must be covering everything up is insane. Why you would support CFB at all if you believe that it is dominated and run by criminals is equally crazy.

Yes I'm aware of it. but if you listen to postgame interviews or articles or anything for that matter. You don't hear half the crap Lebron complains about. Jordan let his game do the talking and Lebron is too busy making excuses.
