Am I? Life is full of risks, but to your point I guess I don't understand why a parent would choose to expose their child to entirely preventable diseases instead of having them vaccinated.you are the "zero risk" person. there was some risk albeit small no? probably as much as a small child dying from COVID but we know how you feel about that

Less than 2 weeks ago.
But even after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said fully vaccinated Americans could stop wearing masks outdoors unless they were in a crowd of strangers, many Los Angeles residents are continuing to mask up as they weigh the risk. Some say it’s hard to break the habit.
Do I still need to wear a mask outdoors? There is a growing debate
He added that “it would be a very unusual situation, if you were going into a completely crowded situation where people are essentially falling all over each other, then you wear a mask.”
“But any other time,” he said, “if you’re vaccinated and you’re outside, put aside your mask. You don’t have to wear it.”

Masks have no valid use if you are vaccinated. And any claimed validity they may have had in the past diminishes each day.Masks work. I realize it makes your breath not the greatest but that is a small price to pay in order to not spread a deadly virus.
A reasonable reader would come to the conclusion that Fauci was speaking with different data points in each of those comments. In situations where you expect to have reasonable personal space, i.e. a golf tournament, you behave differently than you would at, say, an outdoor concert or other close-quarters situation.
It's all about the distance from face to face. Outside, facial distance further than 2.5 to 3 feet brings an exponential drop in aerosol transmission.
Just objectively falseMasks have no valid use if you are vaccinated. And any claimed validity they may have had in the past diminishes each day.
If somebody is worried about it they can trade the cost\benefit of the vaccine. If they aren’t worried then that’s fine too it’s their health. M
GTFO with your “masks work” tripe kid.
I’d submit a reasonable reader looks at Fauci’s continual waffling and flip flopping and just changes the channel when he steps up to the podium at this point.A reasonable reader would come to the conclusion that Fauci was speaking with different data points in each of those comments. I admit to not paying attention to him at this point. It also helps that I don't have cable tv and avoid cable or radio news websites. There's a reason top scientists try to stay away from the camera and he's just strengthening that case.
If you are really really concerned about this disease what is the single thing you should consider doing? And after chosing to do it what real risk are you at from anybody else?I admit to not paying attention to him at this point. Oh I agree. This bastard is highly infectious. I don't think it was widespread in China until late December. If you look at our timeline it fits that it popped in early November and oh **** happens in mid January. We had our first case in early January and we're on full lockdown by March.Depends how you define "widespread." By the time they shut down Wuhan, it had probably reached a number of countries.

So if somebody is really worried get the vaccine. If they aren’t worried about the risks of a bad outcome then don’t. But let’s all move the hell on
Vaccinated people can still spread COVID to unvaccinated people. Vaccinated people wearing masks, sometimes 2, to not spread COVID to unvaccinated people isn't theater.
Vaccinated people hugging other vaccinated people isn't theater. It's a benefit of being vaccinated and not having to worry about COVID.
What in the world do masks do for vaccinated people? Last year this was about me not peeing on your leg. Now it's what, protecting you from the 1/1,000 chance you encounter someone with covid and the 1/15,000 chance it bypasses your vaccine and then the 1/15,000 chance you give it to a vaccinated person and it bypasses THEIR vaccine and the 1/60 chance they die from it. There's 1 in 13.5 TRILLION chance that chain of events occurs. You have better odds of winning powerball 10 times in a row and getting struck by lighting each time you go to pick up the check. Stay safe my friend.Just objectively false
Did what get the vaccine? Honestly at this point I don’t think it matters. The real risk was our healthcare system getting overloaded and failing. That risk is long gone. No I don’t think this is the flu, however the risk of a severe outcome is very low.I agree. I wish more did, though.
