Henry T's Cousin Fires Back

**** him too. Lol. And go watch a QB stink it up at any other major SEC program, same thing would happen. Sad, but true. So go **** yourself Henry Ts cousin. Your cousin had no pride or loyalty and is a daddy whipped little bitch. Facts are facts.

That’s fair. I understand that they share a bond and are friends . That’s fine. The guy you call “family” just left your current family for greener pastures. Greener in so many ways when it comes to Henry T I guess. Those greener pastures that happen to be your biggest rival. That to me is a slap in the face for everything you work for and have worked for. I guess snowflakes like me just don’t understand.
I agree with you. Last I checked, Family doesn’t abandon family when the going gets tough. But I’m old fashioned that way. Henry T only cares about Henry T. Maurer’s sentiment is admirable but misplaced. Maurer needs to be tweeting about those who stayed to fight and not the ones who ran.

TN Harassment Laws

Specifically

Aggravated Stalking
If any of the following apply you could be charged with a Class E felony, punishable by 1 to 6 years in prison:

The stalking involved you displaying a weapon;
The victim is under the age of 18 and you were over the age of 23;
This is your 2nd stalking charge within 7 years
You make a credible threat of death or serious harm to the victim or a member of their family; or
A restraining order was in place.

I have never received a death threat, but if I did receive what I thought was a credible death threat I believe I would aggressively push for an investigation to find the perpetrator and have said perpetrator to be sent to trial according to the law stated above.

Just don't lose to Auburn two years in a row, or you'll really find out about death threats.
Back when Finebaum was just a radio host, he had one of the former quarterbacks on there one random day. I can’t remember if it was John Parker Wilson or who it was, but it was from that time frame. His last year at Bama, they played for but lost the national championship. Fans were calling in during his segment, and they acted like they had been waiting their entire lives to give him what for. They were unrelenting and vicious. It’s one thing to be an ass on a message board, but did this crap live on the air. I was as stunned as I was amused.

I often wonder how many of the nut jobs who give the rest of the sane fans a bad name actually attended the university or have any connection what so ever other than buying that team’s T-shirt at Walmart.

Henry is a good kid. He had his reasons for leaving and his cousin just gave you one of them. UT probably has the most powerful fan base in all of sports (unless you can name another franchise that the fan base single handedly stopped a coaching hire) and within this very thread it’s CLEAR that the players are paying attention to what the fan base thinks of them. You think Henry didn’t see all the “bye bye” and “he wasn’t that good anyway” comments while making his decision to stay or leave? Come on man. He absolutely did and I’d bet my bottom dollar those comments assisted him. In fact maybe even fueled him to play against us. Brian retweeted his cousins remark as both support of Henry T AND the fact he himself has received the same type of comments. But we don’t see that. Most of us “assume” that most “fans” are just like us and because “we” would never say something like that to a player, they don’t either. I think it’s about time to wake up. All it takes is ONE person to take something out of context and the next follows suit. This entire thread is proof of such. From a snowflakes point of view, Brian retweeting support of Henry T is supporting Bama. From a conservative point of view, it’s exactly what it was. It sucks that he chose Bama but he did what was best for him and all Brian did was EXACTLY what he did for JG and Shrout. He supported their decisions AS A TEAMMATE. If you want me to get on board of a world where it’s become unacceptable to support your friends and teammates based on the team they chose? Then the coach in me says screw that! As long as they’re enemies one Saturday a year, that’s all you should EVER expect.
I assume you're writing some ass-kissing novella about Maurer that will be released when he transfers? Hopefully we get to read it soon!

Most players commit to the coach and not the university. That’s why coaches are judged by recruiting. It absolutely FLOORS me that this fan base is SO damn quick to turn on the players that have proven to be different.

Tennessee fans are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it. Last year everybody knew that we had turned the corner and were ready to compete in the SEC. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew that Georgia will never win a National Championship, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that we'll probably suck, again, this year.

Think what you'll know tomorrow........

We will be under the microscope for a while so my guess is no pay for play for at least 2-3 years. Why not transfer to a program where a coach can operate with impunity and give you whatever you ask for....as long as you keep making tackles
I would say the NCAA will be talking to TooToo and Bama knows I hope they give him money.

First time it happens, Golding and Saban will be in his face.
Second time it happens, he'll be sitting the bench.

That's sadly what where Pruitt went awry. He seemed to start with that fire but something happened in that second year and it seemed to disappear.
What happened was they had dirt on Pruitt so he couldn't keep calling them out after year 1 or kicking chairs because he was giving money and if he kept dogging the players they would turn him in. He had to try and be friendly and I think he got tired of covid and thought he had a free year. They all quiet last year during Kentucky game.

There are a few nut cases in every rabid fan base.. it’s just the way it will always be. Does he think bama doesn’t have those people? Lol
They do, but they just got electricity and don’t have the internet yet

I won’t be doing that. I think the opposite of those in their “feels” about it. He supports his teammates. Past, present and future and that’s the definition of what a “teammate” is supposed to be. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous of those who don’t get that because we all know if Henry T had decided to go elsewhere (not a rival) then most would SUPPORT the fact that he SUPPORTED him. I think the faster the fans get it through their heads that these players are bonded unlike anything WE understand and not as embedded into the rivalry as a seasoned fan, the better off they’ll be. Do I think he should’ve “publicly” supported him? No. Because of snowflakes that only understand where THEY stand on the subject.
“Going to miss you...good luck every game but one” would have been fine. Retweeting the fanbase critique was a poor decision IMHO. Like many of us (especially me), Maurer should probably try harder to “think twice speak once”.

I will agree with that as soon as someone can find the same type of criticism he faced for supporting JG and Shrout. Until then, he simply supported a teammate that decided to move on just the same as the aforementioned. As I mentioned before, I’ll NEVER be on board with the thought of a world where it’s become unacceptable to support a teammate. Maybe that’s the coach in me or maybe it’s the ability not to read too deep into what someone says. Either way, it’s not MAURER that’s the problem here. It’s the over emotional portion of the fan base that are holding him responsible for being A FREAKIN TEAMMATE! I can’t believe what I’m reading. 🤦‍♂️

Once they bail to another team they're not a teammate. They become a former teammate. You're the one shouting in all caps like someone who is emotional. That's just projection. The fan base is not at fault. There are no responsibilities for opposing teams with former teammates. If he had truly held him responsible for being a teammate, then he wouldn't have bailed to another team or had someone supporting him in that decision. The team would have come first. I don't care either way, but I don't appreciate you or anyone bashing the Tennessee fan base. If you don't like Tennessee, GTFO and your problem is solved.

Not sure anonymous callers are any different than anonymous posters if you believe people actually read what is posted.

My opinion, which I know is not popular here, is that you can be a diehard fan of UT and not feel the need to denigrate other teams, players, or fans.

If we were winning championships right now, would you care what was going on at another school? Level of enjoyment certainly comes with winning but it should not change a person's fandom.

Yeah, I don't feel the need to denigrate anyone. It gets tiresome reading about someone crying because people didn't applaud a former player leaving a team and then denigrating the fan base. That's the stuff that gets old quickly.

Not sure if you read my post. I am glad Maurer supports his teammates and friends. I just can’t think of many cases where players or coaches criticizing the fanbase has worked out well (even if some fans deserve it).

I did and I apologize. I’m just a little bent out of shape about it. I think it’s sad to see that the world has become so damn emotionally fragile.

I understand that Maurer is your guy and that you have a friendship. I know that are you going to side with him on just about everything. There is no doubt there are crazy fans out there and that our fans have shown to be on the extreme side occasionally. Our fans are also extremely loyal . If you go out and give your all the fans the fans will do the same.

You bring up JG and the way people treated him because of his play. People have also questioned certain aspects of his character during points of his career, but for the most part people were mostly just dumbfounded by his play on Saturdays. Obviously his biggest mistake was his rogue called QB sneak versus Bama. To me that was a combo of poor play and it was some on his character as well. It’s despicable that some fans would allegedly make death threats to a player or anyone for that matter. I’m also sorry if that’s happened to Brian in some capacity, that is completely unacceptable. Maurer is one of the more active guys on social media and he seems to carry a lot of social opinions. There are tons of losers out there who love to hide behind a keyboard and say horrible things, does he really think that only exists at Tennessee? I’m willing to bet that every school outside of Vandy has those exact same things happen. Does it excuse it? Absolutely not. But don’t make it seem like we’re some cancerous fans that don’t care about the players. He wants to see Henry T at the top? And I hope both of them get to the NFL, but he better hope he doesn’t sign with Philly or the Pats because this is nothing compared to what that is.

To be clear, I’m aware I’m not going to change your mind on Henry T going to Bama and Brian supporting it publicly, that was never really my intention. You’re not going to change my thoughts on it either, but please don’t try and patronize us with this stuff about the fan base driving Henry T away, especially to Bama of all places. Not only has his father publicly stated that they should’ve gone to Bama from the get go, but there are also serious allegations that Henry’s family took money. On top of that you talk about our fan base’s crazy people, but completely ignore the idea that Bama’s fan base is the craziest in the country. Lets see what happens if Henry misses a tackle against LSU and gives up a td or drops an interception that would close out a game against Auburn. Lets see how that timeline looks then.

I work in customer service and yesterday a long time customer came up to the guy beside me and threatened to kill him. He changed companies. I thought maybe I should change companies too, but a lot of other customers said it was possible that I could be threatened at another place so my coworker being threatened wasn’t really a big deal and I should just stay at the current company. I resigned later that day and a third employee said, ‘Good luck. Customers threatening to kill employees is bad.’ Then all the customers yelled and screamed at him and said he blamed them and betrayed them.

People can talk about the terrible culture Pruitt had on this team, but some of this fan base has a toxic culture when the concern isn’t about a college student representing our university having his life threatened, but instead these fans somehow feel threatened and blamed by a college student when he agrees that people saying they will murder another person because of football is bad.

I really wish Brian Maurer would stay off Twitter.

He and Henry To'oto'o came in together, an obviously there was a shitstorm of things going on that weren't good behind the scenes.

But...this UT TEAM needs a leader that can focus on THEM. Why retweet stuff concerning drama from before Heupel??
Everyone knows BS was at an all-time high. Okay. We're supposed to be moving forward now!

Henry To'oto'o for right or wrong reasons abandoned Tennessee. On top of that he decided to play for our #1 historical rival, who is a huge factor in the past 15 year downturn of UT Football.

His level of focus, AGAIN, is questionable.
