Just went a few months back. Best hike I've ever been on was the Paintbrush/Cascade Canyon loop. I love the grand tetons. Man I want to go back.

Awesome! I’m going in late July with my brother (Drew’s dad), BIL, and dad. Doing to the Teton Crest over 3 nights. Never done anything like this. Just a one night hike in Savage Gulf recently. And some in east TN and NC in my early 20s.

@Ulysees E. McGill did you ever go to the Grand Tetons in your excursions out west?

Twice so far. Greater Yellowstone is my favorite spot on earth, and the Tetons and Jackson Hole(which means valley, not town, the town is Jackson which is at the south end of Jackson Hole) are my favorite place in Greater Yellowstone.

Altitude sickness will be ROUGH if you don't spend at least a day down in the valley at 6,800 ft acclimating. I think almost all of that trail is 9,500+. I made the mistake once of hiking all day at 9,500+ ft in Rocky Mountain NP after flying into Denver the night before...BAD MISTAKE.

And if you're in Iceland, enjoy. Try to do the whole loop around the island. Freakishly beautiful piece of the planet.

We didn't have time to do the ring road, but we did do the golden circle and Snaefellnes peninsula. Such an amazing place. Have really enjoyed it.

I've done it both ways, and then up to Breck at over 10k. No acclimating makes sleeping most uncomfortable. Waking up gasping for air is no bueno.
