He needs to ditch the curveball entirely, throw a few more sinkers and rely on that changeup. Slider isn’t horrible and with a really good change it can be even more effective. SSS but seems like he’s effective with the change to either lefties or righties

I mean he faced a right handed dominant team, threw 22 changes to RH and only gave up one hit. That’s good

I hear ya but something has to spin. A good change up is the best pitch but you cannot live on fastball/change up forever. Too easy to guess right

Good news with Ian is he throws harder and has a better spin rate on the change than Bryse but yeah the curve hasn’t been good this year

Well I’ve already figured out one issue. His cutter and sinker usage has gone up considerably and they both haven’t been great

2019 cutter usage: 10.4%
2019 cutter xwOBA: .354
2019 sinker usage: 19.2%
2019 sinker xwOBA: .363

2020 cutter usage: 8.8% (only 58 pitches)
2020 cutter xwOBA: .230
2020 sinker usage: 19.2%
2020 sinker xwOBA: .295

2021 cutter usage: 12.1%
2021 cutter xwOBA: .653 (!!!)
2021 sinker usage: 26.9%
2021 sinker xwOBA: .315
