Will any of these Tennessee Football records realistically ever be broken?

Yes. Guessing most of the passing ones will, since the game is evolving more in that direction every year. And Henry’s career rushing yard record isn’t really that impressive of a number. One would think UT would have someone with 4,000 yards at this point. Hurd would have if he’d stayed 4 years.

I think there are some passing records that could be broken. I was lucky enough to witness The Future’s 256 against LSU and equally unlucky enough to witness Mark Jones 90 yard TD reception against UGA in that 2003 debacle.

There are certainly some on there that are attainable. My list of possibilities:
Career Field Goal %
Longest Pass Play
Single Season Passing Yards
Single Game Receiving Yards
Career Receiving Yards

I don't see any of the rushing ones being broken any time soon. Most of the defensive ones seem pretty tough to break as well.

Longest Rush will never be broken, only tied. The ones that have always seemed impossible to break are the Spiva tackles records. He averaged 136.75 tackles/season over a 4 year career and 17.6 tackles/gm in 1976. I believe both of those tackles records are SEC records too.

Crazy thing about Kelly Washington vs LSU, if I recall correctly, LSU lined up on defense at least 3 or 4 times without even having coverage on Washington who was split wide out. I was at the game and the crowd was going nuts for us to throw to him. I know they didn't throw to him the first 2 times it happened but I can't remember after that.

I believe any season record can be broken but career records will be tuff to break. Today’s players that have great stats for 3 years are probably going pro and taking the money. This one time COVID rule could given some players 5 years of stats, but then again, I think if they are good enough to set a TENN career record they are gone to play for money. Don’t blame them at all.

Longest pass play
Single season passing yards, rushing yards, receiving yards
Career recewiving yards
Single season total offense.

Definitely will be broken at some point

Tackles
Int's
Sacks in a season
18 rushing TD's in a season

No Chance of being broken

All of those current records broke a previous record held. So why not?

Ones in red can be broken

The career rushing record is only like 73ypg over three seasons. (including bowls, less if you get some playoff games in there)

Bu

Yeah Saban really got schooled that game.
But paid us back in SECC game

How about fewest passing yards allowed in a season, fewest touchdowns allowed in a season, fewest points allowed in a season, fewest pass completions against us in a season, etc.. I don't know what those records are now but I imagIne some go way back.

Kelsey’s 99 yard run against Florida was a thing of beauty. I was sitting in the North end zone and never through he could run 99 yards without being caught. He was not the fastest of running backs and Florida had a few speedy DDs.

Andy Spiva’s records will be the most difficult to break. I knew his mother, Betty, well and she was so proud of him. It is a shame that his NFL career was cut so quickly by his death in a traffic accident. We planted a tree beside Stokely in his honor. I think it has been destroyed during all the renovations which have occurred in the last few years.

I could see some of the single season or single game records being broken. But the career ones will stick around for a long time considering how many kids transfer, or jump early to the NFL, or just aren’t good enough to play as freshman.

With the offense we are about to put on the field with this coaching staff, we could realistically do as poorly as 6-6 in one of the next 3 years and absolutely smash many of those offensive records.

As others pointed out, the game has changed offensively
