Treasonous John Kerry

OK, but how would this be "treason" when the offense would be against Israel, not the US? LOL
Valid. Does telling your friends secrets to it’s enemies actually count as treason? In many eyes, they would say yes. But to others, it would not.

We all know nothing will come of this though.

Just for clarification he told secrets about our arguably closest ally to a state sponsor of terrorism...that seems like something they would have hung people for in the past...I'd just deport him to Cambodia to live out his last years

I'd be interested to know of one instance of this.

If being our biggest headache makes Israel our best ally (it's not, it's the UK), then who needs allies?

For it to be legally treason, they probably need to establish that what he was doing was out of allegiance to Iran, or knowing it would hurt the US. If Kerry really did this, for all we know, he traded information to save American lives.

It's a doozy of a headline but we can't be sure that it's a smoking gun without more details. Obviously, Israel won't be happy no matter what the answer is. What are they going to do? Stop accepting all our support? OK, good.

Not that I think it rises to treason, but the probable argument for would be that he took classified U.S. intelligence and shared it with a foreign power, one that could legitimately be considered an enemy of the state. It's basically the same as spying.

Exactly. Meanwhile, all of these denials about the presence of Israeli boots on the ground is total nonsense.

Israel's role in the Syrian civil war - Wikipedia.

Non-interference position
Israel's official position in the Syrian Civil War has been strict neutrality, as per various Israeli Defense Ministers.

In July 2017, Israel's Defence Minister, Avigdor Liberman, said that while "the rebels are not our friends, they are all versions of al-Qaida", Israel could not allow a man like Bashar al-Assad to remain in power: "Keeping Assad in power is not in our security interests. As long as he is in power, Iran and Hezbollah will be in Syria." He said that Israel had no interest in entering the Syrian civil war, but there were ″red lines″ Israel had set, such as the smuggling of sophisticated weaponry to Hezbollah and Iran's presence on its borders. Later in July 2017, the Israeli government said it opposed the cease-fire agreement in southern Syria that the United States, Russia, and Jordan had reached a week prior that envisaged establishing de-escalation zones along Syria's borders with both Jordan and Israel, as that would legalise Iran's presence in Syria.

guess it would depend on whether we coordinated with Israel and he was sharing our military secrets.

unlikely but still he'll need a good explanation for why he did this to an ally.
Even if it wasn't coordinated, I'd say the information was classified. You don't just share classified information.

Oh stop it... you don't give a damn about state sponsored terrorism because if you did, you would be out here championing us breaking ties with KSA.

Where have I ever said I championed Saudi Arabia or any country that violates human rights? I'm all for pulling our troops out of any threat unless it's to our immediate border

Pales in comparison to Trump's repeated acts of treason with Putin, ignored by the bulk of the GOP.

Next question is why are we (The United States) even over there? What strategic objective would toppling Assad gain for the average American on Main Street?
Reread every post I ever made in the Syria thread to get my opinion
