Does anyone here have a problem with Biden pulling everyone out of Afghanistan? The only remark I can make is, it's about f'n time. In fact I think we need to pull everyone out of the middle east, europe and Japan too.

I grew up north east of Knoxville in Union County. It had no minorities to speak of and no blacks at all when I lived there. Thus UT was my first diversity immersion. And we were all intelligent, educated, well spoken, and ambitious in engineering. I didn’t see race, I saw a bunch of bright kids trying to better themselves thru a science education.

It's probably really a subset of that white civilization. Consider southern Europe like Spain vs more northern parts. Then compare the parts of the Americas settled by each group. The US and Canada thrive and the Hispanic portion largely has problems. US and Canadian settlers seemed interested in a new life. The Spanish and Portuguese seemed far more interested in plundering first and establishing Catholicism secondly. Even when you consider Australia and the other destinations for "transported" undesirables from Britain, they fared better than the places conquered by Spain and Portugal. It really is not the color of a person's skin as you say; it's all about the culture that shapes the person.

Perhaps it's cyclical or something. Several civilizations - China, Egypt, Persia, and several others were very advanced at one time and far more progressive scientifically than Europe, and then lost their way. Looking around leads you to wonder if we're seeing the demise of our own culture like those other civilizations.

Funny how policymaking based on feelings rather than intellect and thinking things through tends to lead more frequently to unintended consequences. Worse this administration (or more aptly "abortion") won't figure it out because their "science" isn't science at all.

To me this is like airlines and airfares. Why is it necessary to announce it? Just freaking do it if you are going to.

I think it is a mistake. I would like to see us getting more financing from some of the other countries to protect their interests.

Think about the very first alpha engineer. Leonardo Da Vinci. An Italian and the father of modern engineering. A true Renaissance man 😎. The Renaissance Period was when scientific developments began to burst forth at a much higher rate. This was driven largely by culture in the northern Mediterranean and Western European regions. I’m not sure it had anything to do with race.

We need to keep some troops there for HUMINT. I believe it will fall back into even deeper anarchy and the most radical islamic groups will find safe haven there to train with no fear of reprisal or interruption.

I don't think it has anything at all to do with race. Advancement has everything to do with appreciation of scientific thought and the lack of cultural roadblocks to let it happen. In many cases it would seem like religion (including mysticism and superstition) became the inhibiter that shutdown scientific achievement - at least in some fields.

Leftists never think about impacts and behavioral incentives. Everything, and I mean everything, they want to meddle in creates incentives for people to react in a certain way. It's why they always fail- they're almost unanimously too stupid to realize or too evil to care that what they push creates failure.
